Things You Gotta Know----
About Me
I went to college back home in Texas for a little while, where I was a Theatre Major......learned quite a lot, too. (Thanx, Pert!) One of the things I learned was that when somene else is paying for school, DON'T SCREW AROUND!!! Sooner or later, you've got a parent saying, "Bye bye, have fun! Welcome to the Real World!" Believe me, it ain't no M-TV, either!
I've seen many shows, Theatre wise. Among my Favs are: Les Miserables---seen it 4 times, Phantom of the Opera (once), Cats (once - was a bit dissappointed), Into the Woods (loved it), & Jesus Christ, Superstar (Awesome!), just to name a few...
I used to act at a Rennissance Faire back in the Lone Star State------Waxahachie, Texas, to be exact......Scarborough Faire.......... probably the best 4 summers of my existence, well the last year left something to be desired! Ask me about it. Goto WWW.faire.net
Something else I have been up to is volunteering for the MDA. In the summer of 1997, I was a volunteer counselor at the MDA's summer camp in San Diego - Camp Cuyamaca - and I loved it so much I did it again in 1998. I also did the Summer Camp for Los Angeles as well as the telethon.
Something interesting happened that year that was not expected...I meet the girl of my dreams. This happened back in June, 1998. The only downside to this was that she was seeing someone at the time...... I don't feel so bad about that, though; when we met, she stated that her relationship was not stable, and hadn't been for a long while. We both volunteered at the Los Angeles camp, where I spent as much time with her as possible...she is everything I could ever want in a woman! And unbeknownst to her, little things she did caused me to fall head over heals in love with her! I accept the fact that right now I am only meant to be a friend. Time will tell, but I believe her to be my soulmate. I love you , Torri.
(By the way, Torri and I never happend; ask, and I'll explain. She is my one of my best friends, though!)
Peotry and Such
Here are three poems that I have written recently (for Torri) that I want to share. I think these are the best that I have written, and I hope you enjoy them.
LATE HOUR
by
Grover (kb)
Late at night I lie awake
and think of what's to be.
The desire that consumes my heart
I only wish that you could see.
The door is shut, although unlatched;
Your presence I await.
I start to read but fall asleep
for the hour that night was late.
An hour had passed when I awoke
and you could not be seen.
To think that you would still appear
a fool I must have been.
The light put out, I shed my clothes
and into bed I crawled.
I slept no more than ten minutes
when through my door you walked.
I partially rose to greet you,
then beside me you did lay.
As I placed my arms around you
All my worries went away.
But soon you left and there I was,
my heart' desire gone.
Tears were dancing down my cheek,
our time together done.
My wish was for your happieness
and your dreams to all come true.
A third was made to keep
my memories of you.
SURELY
by
Grover (kb)
Surely you can appreciate the regrets I have,
Concerning things done in my past.
I have fought my brother,
Yelled at my mother;
Have not been honest
To them and to others.
But forgivness had come that would last.
Surely you can frogive somthing I have done,
A thing I will not forget.
For the children, you care.
For the kindness you bare;
For the smiles that you give;
For the love that you share.
I love you; I do not regret.
WINTER
by
Grover (kb)
Imagine for a moment:
Gentle falling snow
Blanketing the ground
Quiet and serene.
Imagine just a minute:
Skies are bleak and gray
Sleet and freezing rain
Howling through the night.
Imagine just a second:
The loving hint of spring
Sunlight shining bright
Dancing in the glen.
Imagine for a while:
Clouds return two-fold
Sleet and snow return
Ne'erending winter.
