We all need a sabbatical more often than we SEEM to be able to arrange.
If I were interviewing an applicant,
hearing that he or she managed a sabbatical would impress me.
On the other hand, finding a “tolerant” position may be more helpful in the long run.

I'd like to go back to work sometime, but I do need a "tolerant" position. My last experience with an internship a couple years ago didn't go so well.

It can be WAY too overwhelming trying to find that “perfect” job.
Every person is different, every job is different.
Smaller operations seem to me to be more open to special fits.
In my history, “testing” out several jobs kept me from being too picky but allowed me to move on without too much guilt. For me that was as a “Temp” or as a “Consultant.” In your world the words may be different but if I “Temp-ed” somewhere, that would not have the same stigma of failure when I moved on. In fact, I could say, “I did a good job and when it was finished I came here.”
This idea may be important for you as it is next to imposable to know ahead of time how “tolerant” any situation may really be in your specific case.

I temped quite a bit a while back. I liked a lot of the jobs I had, but was never kept on when it came to hiring someone permanent. I thought I did a good job anyway and did get some good recommendations out of them. Full time work wouldn't work for me now. Very part time might.
