Hi!

I just wanted to ask you - did you really feel that I was 'hijacking' your conversation? If so, I'm sorry, because I really didn't mean to do that. It's just (as I explained to someone else) that Justin and I go back a bit. I didn't actually mean to butt in - I just realised something about him and posted it.

Incidentally, I'd like to help Justin as much as he'd like to help you! Once again, sorry if you feel I was trying to distract you! By all means, continue, though I would advise you to look at some of Justin's journal entries!

Oh... and hope you like this place! I seem to be running into newbies quite a bit now - in fact, it was a newbie to whom I explained the 'history' I mention... anyway, if you have any questions about this place or anything you want to know, don't hesitate to ask! smiley - smileysmiley - hug

smiley - biggrin Don't worry Ruth (I remembered your name! Yay!), I have my fair shares of bad days too! And... well, Justin's threads have a tendency of being hijacked, he's quite a controversial figure around here. Which isn't always a bad thing... smiley - winkeye

smiley - blush Thanks, I do care a lot about people, especially my friends. I hope that I can count you among them, perhaps? I've been through a few different denominations of Christianity, and I feel the best thing I've taken from my life is a sense of moral responsibility and love for others.

I hope you liked my space - it's a bit odd and rather empty, but don't be intimidated! I have a rather wry sense of humour at times... So, what denomination do you belong to? And how long have you been a Christian?

smiley - hug Take care!

So far, I've explored Catholicism, Protestantism, Anglicism (albeit very briefly), Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormonism. I've also been informed a little about Charismatics in general, and some other odd denominations.

So some of the oddest groups, really. smiley - winkeye

I was born a Catholic (although not baptised), went to a Protestant school, went on to a Catholic high school. Was an atheist for a time, then I joined the Mormon Church, whilst being taught by a JW! I'm only 19, so you probably have more experience of the world in general.

So you were adopted by your Sunday school teacher? That's lovely! smiley - smiley Why was that, though? (I gather you weren't an orphan, but that you got to know your birth mother a little later.

It's nice to talk to you, you're quite refreshingly cheerful. smiley - smiley So, how are you finding h2g2?

I think I'm going to disappear off now, because my eyes are starting to twitch and I think I need a break from looking at a screen. smiley - winkeye Speak soon!

jordan, i went into care when i was a baby as my birth mother couldnt look after me.she had to go on holiday at her majestys pleasure lol.so do you have a belief system at the moment?i feel i actually quite like the charismatic movement from what ive heard and i am in favour of a more modern form of celebration as i am of the disco generation so i like being able to dance in church and sing songs that are a bit more modern like evanescence, not that they sing that at my church but it would be cool!i think we are allowed to enjoy life and we have more reason to rejoice to know we are loved unconditionally.anyway enough abut me .tell me more about you....awaiting your reply, ruthxx

Hi Minnie!

Sorry for taking so long! I've been working on some side projects... smiley - winkeye

Anyway, my belief system at the moment is quite odd. I've established that if there is absolute truth, then morality and ethical truth will stem from it, and I've went on to search for that truth. I've also worked out that if I act as morally as I possibly can, I am acting in a moral manner. So I'm not happy with it, but not totally unhappy either. smiley - winkeye

It's very interesting to hear that, I shall see about asking some of my friends about the Charismatics! I myself love Evanescence - have you heard 'My Tourniquet'? And 'Hello'? That last one - the first time I listened to it I cried, and the second and the third; it's so sad!

What other sort of music do you like? I've got to go and sleep, I've been up all night, but it will be nice to talk to you later.

Take care Ruth and God bless! smiley - smileysmiley - hug

i was just so surprised when i found out that evanescence were christians then i realised that "wake me up inside"is sort of like a prayer really.I havent really heard any of their new stuff but that song touched me.think it was the first cd ive brought for about five years!lol
i tend to listen to christian stuff more than anything like christafarri and mary mary. i find a lot of chart music quite angry really.so what are these side projects youve been working on and what music do you like? bfn tc n god bless you 2. ruth
