You /have/ to buy a portishead CD As Soon As Possible! Preferably the self-titled album, or failing that the album called Dummy. Feel free to try before you buy, but trust me you'll love it and will regret it if you put it off.

That's the whole reason I asked about them in the first place, is because I was listening to it the other day and was thinking that it would probably be your favourite band, but then I realised I hadn't heard you mention it so perhaps you didn't have any at all because I couldn't imagine you having heard it and it /not/ being your favourite, or at least up there in the top three...

and i'm so glad that you dont think they sound stupid. i've noted that i sound quite silly on peoples answering machines. i dont know why, but one friend was even kind enough to play it back for me...

Everybody thinks the sound of their own voice is weird/wrong/silly when they hear it recorded and played back to them. It's one of those things.
