Nice to hear from you with the problem of {}. I wasn't looking close enough, a problem due to being away from maths for a long time.
However, just to prove it, f is an injection, therefore if f(A)=a for every A and a belongs to A then we have a many to one function.
I on the other hand do not have a Phd, but was recommended to do a DPhil in the applications of mathematics to computing a very long time ago.
Circumstances prevented me from following this up, and I did something else instead.
My interests are more in patterns and symmetry, but haven't followed this for a long time.
But I have taken a back seat interest in mathematics, with membership of a prestigious society.

I am just an undergrad math major at the moment--hopefully going for a PhD. I've done a lot of computer science as well during my time at college, so I can definitely see the interest in the applications of math to computing!
