I can understand that you feel the need get publicity for the digibox petition, but do you relly think that posting it to that thread on the survivors group is appropriate or tactful?

If you want publicity post something to the <./>Askh2g2</.> fora. There's a lot more people subscribed to that.

As I said to you before, Saturnine has already sent the email to Telewest.

Also she does have a point about the legality of it all. Now I am not saying I want rid of anyone, I am just pointing it out.

I hope Telewest turn round and say so what, but the petition here isn't going to change it I'm afraid.

What you could change it to is an article To pledge to write to Telewest to request H2G2 back if it does go?

Just a small point: You pay £56 for the monthly fee of all channels. This is the 'something back' you're getting. If you were to pay Telewest as an ISP, you would pay more. The question of whether /anybody/ pays £56 a month to an ISP is irrelevant in this case; You're not paying £56 a month to Telewest as an ISP.

If you were paying Telewest as an ISP aswell as a TV provider, you would be paying the £56 and the ISP fee that Telewest wish to charge. And on the note of paying that much for an ISP, Telewest's ISP, Blueyonder, charge about £40-50 for 2Mb Broadband.

I agree with Kiltedjedi about the use of the ex-LDers places to promote the campaign... The h2g2/LDers Space is definitely the one to contact [ U201567 ] as quite a lot of people are suscribed to its pages [which would save the tricky grey area related to spamming]...

We are quite a few old timers there as well from the pre-Plain Skin era... So we do have some knowledge/experience on how to deal with certain issues...

I will address some points as well [but in a personal capacity] regarding what has been stated by aka and Saturnine in some of their postings these last days... Mainly some clarifications which i feel are needed and definitely some input about the contributions made by ex-LDers to the site...

Not something there to fuel any potential flame war, but something which might help get rid of some myths regarding the presence of the ex-LDers on Hootoo...

The difficult part will be to not let my feelings about the whole affair take over though as right now i am still filled with sadness and anger [which is why i have refrained from posting much these last days] as i am proud to have a lot of digibox users on this site as friends...

Is the petition of any use?!...
I agree that it is not needed regarding the "telling Telewest" bit as that action has already been taken but, in these difficult times for the digibox users and their friends, some show of support will help even if it is only a moral one...

So yep, carry on with the petition, no problem...
I will come and add my name tomorrow and will also start using some of the h2g2/LDers Space facilities to help make more people aware of its existence as well...

You know, it's usually quite productive to ask the person before you start assuming things. You don't know me, and you certainly never asked me about how much I pay for DSL (broadband) and cable TV.

My answer is thus : it's none of your damn business.
