Behind Tired Eyes
Posted Feb 1, 2005
I havent been able to write much recently. That which I have written I'm not comfortable other people reading, I dont want you to know thats what I'm thinking. This is the exception, I wrote it this weekend. Its called behind tired eyes. Its one of those poems that would be a song if I knew anything about music, cos I can hear it in my head ok. Its quite a quick one, each line is quite fast, except the last 5 syllables or so which are quite slow.
Behind tired Eyes lives the sould of a boy that I once knew
All it seemed new and the world was so loud and so big
Not did he know that his dreams were too high and they'd all come crashing down
The body moved on and the mind absorbed all that he knew
Behind Tired Eyes lives the soul of a Man who's face I see
when he stares in my eyes his features look much like my own
He blindly believes in the good of mankind and the hope of all to come
the body moved on and the mind it absorbed all he knew
Behind tired Eyes lives the soul of a man that I once were
Assumed all was there for for his eyes to behold and enjoy
not did he know that the price isnt free and that work is what he must
the body moved on and the mind absorbed all that he knew
Behind Tired eyes lives the soul of a man I could have been
thinks that the world that he sees with those eyes is complete
Not could he know its the tip of the berg and theres more he cannot see
The body moved on and the mind absorbed all that he knew
Behind tired eyes lives the sould of a man I "Should" have been
He's what you expect of a typical man of the times
Not could you know that a sheep of his type is a waste of space and time
The body moved on and the mind absorbed all that he knew
Behind tired eyes lives the soul of the man I wish to be
The knowledge he shares is a fraction of all that he knows
The answers he seeks are the questions themselves and to know just why he is
the body will rest and the mind will absorb all that he knows
(okay, it needs a little work. So Sue me.)

A futile Plea
Posted Jan 6, 2005
Howdy Netland.
Recenly a Coworker of mine disipeared. Just uped and left in the last week of december. The boss has just come around to me today, askin if I know where she is, cos he cant hold her job open anymorem and one of my other colleugues got blown up by his boss yesterday cos he confused her with this girl.
Well, I guess I wish I knew where she was too. The last thing I said to her was to reconsider going home early, cos it would probably cost her her job. She said she was havin troubles at home with her partner, and she was stressed out at workin two jobs, and christmas had cost her a lot of cash for her kids.
Now, I know this is a pretty Futile effort, but I did send her a link to this page once, so she could read me dodgy poetry once when she was bored, so I guess theres a slim chance she might read it, and well, its not costing me anything.
But Aleesha, if you're reading this, Please let us know your OK. All of us in your rockpool team are worried, at the least, gimmie something to tell the boss so maybe you can come back later, or get a reference or something. You know my name, just put a dot between my first and last and add @au.teletech.com, or leave a note here.
Hopefully though, you went for the job I told you about, and you got it, and are in a much better place, and if you are thats cool, just lemmie know, k?
And if anyone else out there is thinkin that they've left abruptly with not saying a word and that people might be worried, get in touch. At least, tell people why ya cant see em no more......

"Okay, what you need to do, Mr President is, do you have a toaster?"
"Yeah"
"And a Fork?"
"Uh-Huh"
"What I need you to do is put some bread in the toaster, and then stick your fork into the heating element there"
"And then the terrorists wont be able to get me"
"Thats right"

Coyotie's Joke
Posted Dec 28, 2004
Happy end of season eveyone.
This one's called Coyotie's Joke, I'm a little rusty, but deal with it.
Months of Disapoinment
I'd almost given in
so much known, could not expect
the beauty of your grin
Things they turned a corner
and life it seemed anew
didnt know just who to thank
I owed it all to you
I hear it in my corner
the punchline seems to clear...
seeing as I do the joke
What do I have to fear?
A burst of celebration...
it soon fell on its ear!
Hollow dreams come crashing down
but later, I would cheer
I didnt see the answer
that I already knew
but something opened up my eyes
who thought it would be you?
I hear it in my corner
the punchline seems so clear...
seeing as I do the joke
what do I have to fear?
The shining light of scotland
was brought into my life
thinking just like me of old
I knew that she'd be strife
shaking all existance
but our time was few
but her grin, I've seen before
she borrowed it from you!
I hear it in my corner
the punchline seems so clear...
seeing as I do the joke
what do I have to fear?
The days are getting fewer
the year it hasnt long
the one regret I seem to have
I'm short of writing song
needs are taken perfect
I've little to be blue
somethings sneaking up behind
I know its only you
I hear it in my corner
the punchline seems so clear...
seeing as I do the joke
What do I have to fear?
Seeing as I do the joke
I know the answers near.
