I am an <./>ACE</.>, and I'm here to help you round the magical maze of h2g2 (fondly known by researchers as hootoo). H2G2 is a living, breathing guide to Life, the Universe and Everything, and it's something YOU can take part in. You can write entries on all manner of subjects, and if it's something you think would look good in our Edited Guide (where all the best research goes), you can submit it to Peer view Take a look at the <./>writing-guidelines</.> for more information on that.

If you fancy writing something, but have no idea what to write, why not look at the Writing-FleaMarket and see if anything takes your fancy!

Have a look around, and don't be afraid to jump in on conversations, hootooers don't bite (well, some of them do, but I'll steer you well clear of those.)

Thank you for your kind welcome to Hootoo. I do have a question with which you perhaps could help.

My personal passion centers on understanding the nature of time. I have been doing research on the topic for some 40 or more years. Having read the h2g2 edited entry on the nature of time, I find it to be quite well done and useful. At the same time, however, I believe I may have some ideas that could be added to what already is there to make it perhaps even more complete and useful.

I have taken the newcomer's "tour" of h2g2, and have looked at the mechanisms available for updating existing edited entries. Being a total newcomer to this venue, however, I don't relish the idea of jumping in immediately to undertake an update or "expansion" of what already is a good entry. Consequently, I wonder whether the current researchers and/or editor of the entry on the nature of time might be willing to look at something I've written on the topic and give me some feedback regarding whether they think my ideas might be worthy of melding into what's already there.

Inasmuch as you have so kindly volunteered to serve as a guide or "coach" for newcomers to h2g2, I thought I would first float this idea with you for a sanity check rather than boldy going directly to the researchers or editor of the existing entry. If you believe my suggested approach has merit, please feel free to forward this posting to whomever you believe most appropriate. If not, I'm open to other suggestions.

Time is foreign to me. I don't usually abide by time. I just "exist" and do what I want pretty much when I want.

Also, the subject of time is a little over my head, but if you bare with me, I'll find someone who can advise you on your theories.

In the meantime, I am also a sub-editor, so if your workings do have foundation and you do wish to update an entry, I can certainly help you with that.

It's fairly straight forward.

I shall speak to you soon once I've got you some help on the time subject.
