Hello! I'm Bob McBob, your guide to H2G2. The best guide to what H2G2 is all about is the <./>DontPanic-Tour</.>, which will tell you almost everything about H2G2, while also take a look at the new users' <./>Welcome</.> page.

You may be interested to know you can change your nickname, and the way you view H2G2 by clicking on the Preferences button.

Now that you've registered, you can not only <./>../Read</.> other entries, but can also write your own guide entries by clicking Add Entry (<./>UserEdit</.&gt. Please note that the entry, and anything else you write, must adhere to the <./>HouseRules</.>. For more information on this, look at <./>Contribute</.>.

You can now also comment on entries written by other people, and include some <./>Smilies</.> for good measure

If you need help with H2G2 click on <./>DontPanic</.> (or the "h2g2 help" button), and, as if by magic, your question will be answered.

If you get stuck by something in the real world, look at <./>AskH2G2</.> or <./>HowDoI</.>.

The Brunel skin provides a selection for you to click on to add then easily: you can change to it in your prefereces if you want.

Your entry on Aliminium or aliminioom is good. I's not for the sensible people at PeerReview, but do look through the Alternative Writing Workshop, aka AWW or Writing-Alternative, to see if you want to put it there.

Placing your entry for review will flag it up to be read by lots of people - look through there yourself if you want.

Also, I'd advise clicking on the link at the bottom of your entry called "notify me when people start a conversation about this entry", or something - amazingly it's not done for you!

If you didn't want to create copies of your entry , don't panic, as it takes a while to add an entry first time, then click Edit Entry (top-right) to edit it.

It depends who you want to talk to!

If you want to talk to other people who've just joined, post at the <./>Welcome</.> page. To post anywhere, scroll to the bottom and click on a conversation, or start a new one.

Most people add to the mass of posts at <./>AskH2G2</.>

If you want to see future guide entries and have your say, go to PeerReview (When there, click on the "Currently in Peer Review" message on the right of these entires to do this)

You can get sucked into the never-ending "Last one to Post here wins" thred F63252?thread=318069

If you spot someone you want to talk to, you can click on their name (to take you to their Personal Space) and leave a message for them (note - anything you post anywhere on H2G2 can be read by anyone).

To talk to the people who are paid for this sort of thing by the BBC, try the help pages.

By the way, to place a link in a post, either:

Type the web address, eg: http://www.h2g2.com

Type the A-Number of an entry, eg: A1911331 (from the Address Bar on your browser), or the U-Number of a researcher, eg U42, or the F-Number of a conversation forum

Or type < ./ > PeerRevew < /. > (without spaces) to go to that part of H2G2 (this is only for a few different pages), eg: PeerReview
