I never fone him at work, he'd think there was something wrong.

He was saying lastnight they were sat about til 4am waiting for a lorry to come up from Coventry, and night before he was home for 5am.

do you phone his parents in New York round midnight, new years eve

It's his aunt who's in New York his mum & dad live here. His aunt will be in Florida with friends this year.

Last year I foned my mum at (7pm NY time) midnight here to wish her a happy new year.

my mistake

His mum & dad wouldn't survive over there they're big drinkers (afternoons ect) and America's not a big drinking place, alcohol's banned except in a bar.

That's put strange, you couldn't sit in Central Park and just have alcohol. Any alcohol you buy has to be in a brown paper bag away form sight ect, and it can't be taken onto the beach like people do here and the Med.

Australia's the same, can't buy booze in a supermarket you have to go through a special drive-through that sells alcohol only!!
