Hi! 
It's great to see people out and about on the site trying to help others. Have you had a look at some of the official <./>volunteer</.> schemes such as the Gurus? They're not recruiting at the moment but may be in the close future.
You can also help unofficially (like you are) by watching pages such as <./>GuideML-Clinic</.> for help requests and other unofficial (and official) help pages.
There are also some unofficial groups who specialise in helping, unfortunately I'm not sure of the details of any at the moment, but the Guardian Angels used to be active.
