Taking our discussion/disagreement off line...
""
A text implies (to me) that it is readable ... All the definitions & examples I can find point to it being a set of WORDS that exclude specific letters - i.e. a whole Book.. the best definition (which matches the OED one) is Websters - which includes the example of "...the Odyssey of Tryphiodorus there was no A in the first book, no B in the second, and so on."
I guess what you have done is taken it to the extreme - removing all vowels and spaces...

Excuse me for bbutting in here : I guess there are nearly as many explanations for 'Lipogram' as there are dictionaries.
One I found is here:
http://www.onelook.com/?w=lipogram&ls=a
>> a text that excludes a particular letter or particular letters of the alphabet <<
which, by agreement of us 'anagrammers' in our game are the vowels.
I have had a look at the game you started, ut I'm sorry, I haven't a clue, it's much harder than our lipograms - atleast in my opinion

The difficulty comes in your definition of the word "text".. I'd say that:
thqckbrwnfxjmpdvrthlzydg wasn't really a "text" or a "writing" as, in and of istelf it is a load of bollox...
The examples given all indicate that a lipogram should mean something - i.e.
the fast brown fox leapt over the lazy dog
is an example of a lipogram excluding U. Its MEANING is the same (or very nearly) & it is made up of WORDS not just letters...

Argon my friend, no disrespect intended but I really don't have the time for petty squabbles regarding word games or definitions of words used in the English language. There comes a point where people can go to far. Our game will remain as it is whether you disagree with us or not. I did thank you for the information you supplied on our threads, and whether you wish to continue contributing to our game is entirely up to you. I'm also very aware of the fact there could be many definitions out there in internet land. It's all too easy to nitpick when armed with loads of useless information gleaned from a computer from wherever, but as I said earlier as far as I'm concerned my definition is correct. You have your opinions (I have mine) and also your own interpretation of what a lipogram is. Fair do's. My only other thoughts on the matter are that you could at least have found something original to begin your new thread and not just simply steal our idea. But that sadly seems to be the the nature of h2g2 - a plagiarists paradise.
Now, I know it's christmas, we should all have much better things to be worrying ourselves over don't you think? I hope this closes the matter, Merry Christmas

What I don't understand is, why it seems to be so very important to you that your definition of the word 'lipogram' is right, and Arty's is wrong - it's a game for god's sake, not a science *rolls eyes*. If you don't like to play the game, then don't do it -dead simple, I'd say

fair enough... how have I plagiarised?
have I used the same example or something?
If I have, beyond the general idea of the game, then I apologise, I thought I was being original, and didn't intend to copy anything!!!
anyway, ...
