h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

As a person who has literally worked every possible shift and then some, I can understand some one looking for communication.

Aside from the traditional three shifts day, evenings, nights, I have worked 12 hour shifts, weekend shifts, 4 day shifts, three day shifts. I have also worked 18 hour days (?) not frequently but I did.

Most in the manufacturing field so there was no chance of falling asleep. Althoug I have pulled some guard duty that endangered my sleep patterns.

I used to listen to Art Bell on the radio at night now of course he's off the air waves.

I'm a night shift worker doing 12 hour shifts in a call centre (directory enquiries) Am just about to finish work at 8am and will be heading home to find my bed
I've also worked a variety of shift patterns but this is the hardest one to keep awake on!
