When you buy microsoft wondows it comes with IE internet explorer etc the browser for windows.when you get normail isp like blueyonder and bt internet.they have the correct drives for IE.now with aol its a different browser alltogether and need endless plug ins, annoying indeed lol

Yeah my nephew works in a shop where he fixes pc's and stuff and he told me that AOL fills your pc with loads of useless stuff it doesn't need Not sure why aol has a different browser altogther but may be that is why it can be slow

You buy aol as a package, you get a search bar, like google etc, chat rooms and message boards, its also becomes your browser. You may have heard of others like oprea and firefox.
I prefer Internet Explorer it works well with windows. You do have problems with IE but if you download the patches u get from microsoft you should have no problems.

Mmmmmm sounds better. I've had aol since I got my pc 4 years ago so I'm used to it all now even the "glitches" Not sure why I put up with it for this long I just have lol. We got freeserve for 3 motnhs first which is wanadoo now I think but I didn't like it we then got aol which wasn't better but just seemed to stick with it.

I wouldn't say "happy" lol but I guess most of the time it does what I need it to do. I wouldn't recommend it though I've learnt to be patient

Very true.do you have anti spy on your p.c.I hope you do??and do you delete unwanted files from time to time. That helps speed up your p.c.along with disk defragmenting

Yeah I have anti spy on my pc I also have norton anti virus and spybot just to check if anything gets in and I aslo have hijack this which tells you if there is any dodgy looking programmes been installed, my nephew put it all in after we got a virus once. I probably don't defragment as much as I should so when I do it, so it usually takes a while. But I do delete temp internet files coz I know that slows it down too.

I hadn't heard of them till my nephew put them in, no-one seems to tell you these things when you buy a pc. I didn't know we had a virus at the time my pc just kept crashing. It had loads but luckily we hand't had one since

Must have been a nasty virus, most viruses just slow you down,or cause your software to crash.to make the p.c crash is very difficult to do.
I cant understand why my hard drive packed in the other day.I guess its just one of those things.

I don't think it was just one virus we had I think it was more "viruses" we never had much of an anti virus software, it might sound stupid when we first got it I never realised you needed it but I know now! I think technology can be tempremental at the best of times at least your hard drive is fixed now.

I have a new one now.I was reading about it.it says hard drives are bound to fail in the long run
Everyone on the net needs anti virus,as where ever you go you pick up things like cookies, some are harmless so are very malice
When i first got my p.c 2 years back i got a nasty worm called sasser.everytime i went on the net it caused my p.c to shut down.

What annoys me is the kind of ppl who put these viruses on the net, I mean do they think it's funny PC's aren't cheap and then someone wrecks it by putting a virus in it I guess my pc's hard drive will be due to fail eventually then, the joys of tehcnology, don't you just love it
