Great news about Mike & Elly and Peregrin & Tink, eh?
But sad about Mark.
Are you going to the summer meet on the 20th?

It sounds like Mark won't be gone completely, he just won't be an Italic any more. Which is good, but it does mean that we will have to break in a new editor.
And I'm planning to be at the meet this month, are you going?

Unfortuntely I never got a replacement foster family organized in time, and still haven't.
I'm now facing the whole summer with no respite care, but at least he's older now & I can always take him out to places - he loves the theme park near us.
I'm hoping to move to a bungalow in a couple of weeks, maybe less.
Last week I had my pc rebuilt by an engineer {it was still under warranty} and my seti units are now approx. 11 hours,

My home PC does them in 8.
I would love to be able to buy a house, but they are just so expensive round here.

Have you stopped doing seti?
Your last unit was sent off on Tue Aug 13 01:03:53 2002
So close to 1,000 units too.....
Are you doing another programme?
I know Silly Willy stopped, I think he's doing the cancer researcch one.

p.s. I've moved now, and busy building a kitchen from scratch.
I'm happy to be here though.

I would still like to be doing seti but at home it hates my cable modem and wont connect to download new packets and for some reason it just won't work on my PC at work.
So how is life in the new house?

poor you!
I can look forward to overtaking you some time in the future then?
Life in the new house....well, I'm still unpacking, and I reckon I still will be next year.
I moved to a very small place, compared with the place I left, and I thought I got rid of a lot of stuff
Everything I'm not using is stashed in the spare bedroom, and of course there's things I need which are also in there and I have to find my way around and open boxes & bags until I find what I'm looking for
As for the kitchen, that's ground to a halt.
My son-in-law who was building it for me, has had an operation on his knee, which he's been waiting over a year for.
He's been signed off work for 3 weeks.
The oven works, but not the hob.
I have a fridge but it's not wired in.
The extractor works but there's no door on it.
I am not going to tell you what it's all cost me so far.
You'd have failure.
And I haven't finished paying out
I still have to buy the tiles.
I did fit the ceiling light though.
That looks great.
And it was a bargain.

I hope his knee op goes well. I might have to end up getting one sometime, my left knee has been dodgy for years.

The op was last Monday.
He was on crutches all last week, but when I saw him on Sunday, he wasn't using them.
I'm taking him to the tomorrow morning, for a check-up.
Knees...who'd have 'em?
I fell on mine on Saturday,

Sounds like he is doing well.
And I hope you didn't do any damage to yours.
I used to have fun with my knees. My left knee-cap used to behave very strangely, it could spontaniously dislocate itself during the night. That was a very interesting way to wake up in the morning.
My knee feels funny this morning.
etc......
Luckily it hasn't done that for a while.
