wizard

I suppose you know that Jostein was just a regular teacher, quite poor and deep in debt, when he hit the big time with Sophie's World.

What you probably don't know is that his kid brother Helge was one of Norway's biggest punk stars in the late seventies and early eighties, singing in a band called Kjøtt which means flesh or meat. I used to be quite a fan as a kid, and remember watching him shake the crown princess' hand on TV without bothering to take off his torn leather glove. He later went on to organize Band Aid's Norwegian counterpart and has since become some sort of impressario. A friend of mine who knows him claims that he answers his telephone by saying "Yeah," which we find quite funny because the normal thing to say would be "Hallo, dette er Helge" or something similar. I passed him on the street the other day and he would have looked almost gothic in his big black coat if he hadn't gone totally bald, which he had.
