Aaaand we're back
Posted Apr 30, 2013
Just the blink of an eyelid in geological terms; in internet terms, civilisations have risen and subsequently fallen. The Palm Pilot, WAP, Nokia - all dead and gone (oh alright, Nokia's merely pining for the fjords. Lovely plumage, the Finnish telecomms company).
Still working on tech, but these days there's more decorative metalwork in my spare time. Getting to be very *expensive* decorative metalwork, complete with little bits of carbon allotropes that people seem inordinately fond of for some reason. So I may well focus my time back here on that side of things (unless it's already adequately covered, of course).

May you live in interesting times

And so it begins...
Busily spending time browsing the web, musing on kebabs (kebabs - I ask you!), when I ought to be working.
Work is, unless I muse for too long on the subject of seared animal matter of unidentifiable origin, something to do with a little known manufacturer of mobile phones. And basestations. And radio comms sets. And...
Mobile phones, you will doubtless have noticed, have taken over from digital watches as this decade's "really neat idea" - we'll be seeing them in cereal boxes before too long. No, I mean as in "given away free with", not "accidentally dropped into the box whilst searching for the free blob of plastic (see petrochemical derivatives) that little Johnny is screaming his head off because he can't find".
So I hope that cleared that one up. Any further questions, please feel free to send them to me written on a 20 pound note. Its OK, it will be an obsolete currency before too long...

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
