As you know I can't take part in discussion threads at present. I read this quote of yours. Post 24 http://h2g2.com/dna/h2g2/brunel/F19585?thread=8283380&latest=1 >The reason I think that abortion is immoral is that we only have one chance at being conscious in this world and the most dreadful thing you can do to someone is take that chance away. < Why do you think it immoral to take away the one chance to be conscious? A million times had I been given the option..I would refuse it, the misery is that bad. Just saying.

See the simplest thing in the world like posting/discussing something *real* to another adult human, even if I'm open to debate because it doesn't always feel that way...may result in hours and hours of a simple message being disappeared on a website...as it often is for me now here.
Words and language are all we have to cope with the intensity which means war between people..or on the bigger scale between countries, won't happen.
And yet apparently that is far too dangerous to be allowed more and more on the internet...now here.
This is what being consciousness makes you desire. Connection with others.
Consiousness?
Totally overrated.
Oblivion is where its at.
h2g2 won't be able to punish me there.

Middle class people with nice lives..and normal health deciding what the most dreadful thing is.

I'm not sure what to reply to this Effers, since I am certain whatever I will reply will be wrong and I have no desire to be berated.
I have taken while to reply because I have not been on the site this evening. Instead I spent it working on the software that will make it easier for the Mods to deal with moderated posts more quickly.

Crikey you really do have a very poor and low opinion of my ability to overcome the more out of control parts of myself.
You say you are certain. Okay
It saddens me that people here read me like that..after all this time.

Well, yes, actually. It's intermittent. Sometimes you can and sometimes you can't. You are also very hard to read and it is often impossible to tell when you are serious and when you are joking.
All that aside, I am focused very strongly on getting the site working properly for everyone right now.

Of course I'm fully aware of the stuff you are doing practically to get the site running properly.
I'm equally concerned to get the site running properly in a human way. Yes I expect I am hard to read for some people..because in real life my communication is much to do with facial expression of various kinds and hand movement (not considered very British apparently..but YES it is for certain sub groups (crikey that's an ugly term )
It's incredibly difficult here for me with *some* of you..that don't just get the banter..and playfullness of intelliegence..that I'm used to in reallife with other highly intelligent people. And all the 'going up blind alleys' but that's all part of it to...nothing to worry about.
**
But this is all to the good to start facing this stuff.
But software isn't everything. It's about people and relationships as well...you can't go out and buy that...it's the unknown...and who knows the time scale..
**
But just so you know. .I'm fully on board..and behind h2g2..even if I get angry about a few surface things..
it's bloody brilliant though we are such a mixture here is my opinion.
But If you don't want any emotional artistic mentals part of things..that you won't understand ever probably...just say.

The software and systems provide the place for everything to happen and for everyone on h2g2 to BE on h2g2. If we get that wrong there won't be a place for culture, community, playfulness, spontaneity or intelligence.

Agreed.
*Both* are needed.
But at present I don't read much language to do with people and also the enormous cultural upheaval happening.
Even if that is a good thing overall.it takes a lot of getting used to and can be quite frightening..because it's an emotional process.
Emotions can't be tidied up according to a timescale and logic.
By definition they are not fundamentality rational. The *grow* and *evolve* according to different rhythms. They essentially come from the *Unconscious*. Which in my opinion is the source of creativity..you have to take risks with it.

Oh and the relationship between the things needed is more akin to a *dance* IMO.

That is a good point.
