h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I accidentally started an almost identically named thread (due to a typo!) to your "What puts people off posting to H2G2." I was, I thought, replying to Mina's last comment but started a new thread instead. Is there a way to fix it? Or does it matter? Again, no offense meant.

It doesn't matter at all, I am just glad that you have revived the question, because it is an important one.

Sorry to hear that you were ignored in the Atelier. I find that we tend to have good manners there, and do greet new posters, even if we don't budge up on the sofas and buy them a beer.

Because a lot of the peeps go way back, and others are connected in various ways in RL, it has a strong momentum of its own. The folks who stay are the ones who can match their steps to the Atelier's.

It's a bit of a juggernaut, and not one that any indivdidual person, Lil included, has control over. I do regard myself as a salonista, but it took me two, or maybe three goes, and a dedication to lurk it for a while, to be able to join.

Anyway, thanks for reviving the debate.

I had decided to give it another go, just recently, and have been hitting the backlog on 7Axth! It moves so fast, I'm beginning to fear I'll never get to the end. That idea about providing a small synopsis every 500-1000 posts is starting to look good, but I've no idea how it could be done.

I'll persevere, though. And thanks. It IS an important topic.
