Edward the Bonobo - Gone.

...only the bigoted cow never has anything interesting to say! The number of times I've seen that there's been a new posting on a thread, only to click on it and see she's said.... That sounds good! or ...generally several times in a row, in response to separate postings! The only time she's ever genuinely surprised me was when I discovered she subscribes to popbitch! Anyway...That's got that off my chest. We've started discussing sweary words again on Lang and Ling. What's the link to your famous list? Come on over, if you have a spare moment: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F19585?thread=508032&post=6721363#p6721363

No spare moments these days! The BBC version is around on the site somewhere, Jimster edited it. My version is on http://www.bethcargill.co.uk/shortwords.shtml these days. (I think - it's a while since I've been there, to be honest).

Out of interest...people (inc. you) keep saying that Vicky has made racist comments. I haven't spotted these myself - in fact quite the opposite - she made some anti-racist comments. My theory was that she actually *knows* some people from other races.

Is it an assumption that she's 'that type' - or are there examples?

Well, between me and thee and the folks that are lurking this conversation, I am not 100% sure about the racist remarks.

You know how some women are tigger-happy with accusations of sexism? Well, Blicky is - sometimes - sees racism where others don't. It's not for me to comment on whether or not there *is* racism there. Racism is a tough one to define, anyway. Was the Commissioner for Racial Equality being racist and sexist when he proposed separate classes for black boys? PC is tough at the best of times: a lesbian friend of mine is prone to making homophobic remarks, but she isn't overly fond of gay men.

I digress.

So in answer to your question, yes Della has made remarks which can and have been interpreted as racist. No, I cannot remember any of them myself. No, I don't think she, personally, is racist. She clearly is homophobic to a degree at least, though I can understand someone being uncomfortable around homosexuals. I am not completely out about all of my quirks and foibles, as you know, because I think that folks might be uncomfortable around some of them.

But discomfort is not the same as hatred.

What is clearly getting under folks skins is the disingenuousness, the poor-Della-victim crap, the revisionism and the lies. And yes, she has promulgated slanders around me, and asked repeatedly to be told what they were, and then ignored the posts where I did just that. Unbe-fecking-lievable.

I am hopeful that the community is sorting out a solution though.
