Are we going to miss each other?
kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013 Started conversation Nov 17, 2004
Hey Ben,
I see you are starting up north on Monday, must come as a bit of a relief to be working but annoying that you have to travel without going anywhere terribly different. Is Yorkshire a new destination for you?
I was wondering if you are going to be around/available to meet up when I head in a cotswoldy direction next week. We are staying in a village called Paxton, near Chipping Camden, arriving on saturday and staying through to the following saturday. I guess you might not have time this coming weekend what with recovering from your cold and getting ready for the new start, but let me know if you think you could fit in a lunch or something

We probably are. I hadn't really clocked your dates, so I let myself get booked up in the meantime.
This weekend.... chez Z on Friday and chez Hoo on Saturday with various non-hootooy things in between. Hmmm.
To be honest, this weekend is planned so that I can drop in on a long-planned Writers' Retreat on the Saturday, and go on up to Halifax on the Sunday with maximum seeing of friends and minimal driving. (Ha, ha!)
Our best bet would be the Saturday that you leave - but you may want to be going home by then. Let me know.

Ach it's my fault for not thinking about this sooner - it was only when you said you started in Halifax on Monday that I remembered
I think we need to head back in reasonable time on the last saturday (27th) because we are going to dinner with some of J's friends, but there should be time for a lunch date One of the reasons for picking where we are going is that it is only a couple of hours drive from home so I'll check with him what time we need to be back.
What is your Writer's Retreat?
It is funny, I always think we don't ever do anything but when I try to organise anything we seem all booked up
Hope we can sort something out

I know the booked up feeling.
I had planned on spending some of that w/e with Z - how about if all four of us meet up for a relatively early lunch in or around Snowshill or Chipping Camden, or wherever you are, on that Saturday?

Sounds like a good plan..

Come out from behind there! I was going to pop over to your space too but you've saved me the trouble
Shall we say 12.30 somewhere in chipping campden on Sat 27th? Can you recommend somewhere or shall J and I scope it out during the week and pick a nice spot?
I'll pop over to my email and send you my mobile number (as I'll be off line in the cottage) so we can do sorting-out
I'm looking forward to seeing you both again, and J said at least he would know what the weirdos look like that I spend all my time talking to

Cheeky s*d! Wierdos, huh?
I don't know that area particularly well, so it would be great if you could scout somewhere. I'll reply to the email with my mobile number.
Looking forward to it!

And we missed each other anyway Hope your head is feeling better now
I had a good lunch with Z and A, the pub in Broad Campden was great. The one in Paxford (the village we were on the outskirts of) was too much of a gastropub for our tastes - J won't go back to anywhere that doesn't give you any vegetables to accompany the meal, especially when the dish is quite expensive.
It is a shame I missed you but we'll see each other at the winter meet? J enjoyed meeting Z and A so will be coming along to the next me with me, those two convinced him that it is possible to meet nice people on the internet

Not personal at all, I am on pay-per-minute dial-up and as Z says, hardly online at all during the week.
and to both of you.

My Mum's still on pay per minute, though freeserve unlimited dial up is only £7 a month for the first three months. (Then £14)

Back in the dark ages before ADSL we signed up to freeserve, but I think we had to sign up for a year. Is it still the same?

Mrs Zen Posted Jan 7, 2005
Well, I have signed up to OneTel, but can never ever get through , so I am using my good ole reliable Cix a/c. However I have put it on my Calling Circle, but even so.
