It's fun, it's friendly, it's often intelligent. You should at least take a look.

And honestly, we could do with another Aussie.

I don't know, you try to show some discernment, keep yourself out of the reach of temptation, envy and supercilious chat, and what happens? Your fellow countrypeople decide that they need you so much that they want you to make up the numbers...!

I don't want to insult you, though, so I guess I'll drag my sorry ass over there and put my name down. Just don't expect me to comment very often, particularly not about trips to Miami for DNA conventions, arcane drinking games and Kate's love life...!

***I do quite like Floor42, by the way, it's just that it's not the sort of thing I go for without being able to see the people I'm talking to: the interface is too cumbersome for that (I suspect I've been spoiled badly for this sort of thing by h2g2 itself, which, as fora go, is exceptional). It's also late at night, the ISP isn't working and MY love life is getting me down - see my journal entry for the period...***

We often have quite intelligent conversations. Really, we do. Just not all the time.

And in my opinion, the forums are actually easier to use than h2g2 here. That could just be because I was there before I was here, but nevertheless they're good. They have little fish cookies and today's active topics and they are really the best type of forums I've seen.

Make sure you go to Golly too. Golly often has the more intellectual discussions. Or sometimes not.

I checked out Golly, and Floor42 rejected me - told me my address slash password wasn't correct, or something...

You have to re-register at Golly, so that may be why it rejected you. It runs seperately, and thus you have to register twice and become hoopy twice and everything.
