We finished the drive down here yesterday. We are in southern Louisiana, and are going to be here until New Year's Eve, at which time we will return home.
I'm having fun and shall report more when there's more to report.

Another concert

I have yet another concert this afternoon. This one will certainly not be as good as the last, but I will go anyway. Not like I've much of a choice.
Now...What to do with a Sunday morning?

The Morning After

The concert was last night, and it went well. I just wish we had that many saxophones in our muni band. It makes a world of difference (and I wouldn't have to play so loud all the time, just struggling to be heard).
Today my stringsman is coming over for a chat.....I think. I'll make some tea and break out the shortbread. Then we can tour the property and see what changes have occured, if any. I could take the Toyota, but for energy reasons, gas prices, the sake of exercise, and my nostalgia, I think we'll walk. That would give us better insight, too, on the state of the land. Of course, they'll want to talk guitars, too, and we can do that, as well as some playing. I still have some playing cards to accompany brilliant discourses if we need them. All the same, these are just fanciful ideas that may never come into play. Only time will tell.

Oh dear, the business of life. Halloween has passed, Thanksgiving is next week, and Christmas then is not far off.
Tomorrow I will start reading a German translation of Grapes of Wrath (Steinbeck). It will probably take me longer to read it than any other book I've ever read. I hope not, but I'm of the belief that it will.
My big concert that I auditioned for (and got 4th chair! They only took 8 saxes, too) is Saturday. Speaking of which, I have a phone call to make sometime this week.
There is someone pining for the use of the computer, and as such I must go.
