Well, I had some near the river and some actually in the river, which is where I really love to eat it. Who says you can't swim after you eat, you know?

Okay, later then.smiley - smiley

Are you here? *looks around...*

Well, in any case, I have some news. No, not news. Just a question. Have you ever eaten date nut candy? It's really good, and I'm going to make some in a few days. I'm personally a born date-eater, so I'm really looking forward to making/eating the stuff.

How are you lately? Anything of interest going on?

Talk to you later. smiley - smiley

Today at Target I got a couple of Chocolove bars and a Ritter Sport (dark smiley - choc with marzipan).

I'm really excited.

See you!

Great! The Chocolove bars are Definitely some of the best smiley - choc I've had!(I mean Very best-IMHO-y'know Right up there with some of the Belgian, Swiss, German, etc.) And the Ritter Sport Marzipan is really nice.

Enjoysmiley - smiley...yes, & see you!

I haven't had any of the Chocoloves yet--I'm meaning to give one to a friend, but I don't know if it will make it to them uneaten.smiley - winkeye

Some other things I got at Target was some Archer's Farm Ginger Beer soda. Have you ever tried Archer's Farm? Their fruit flavored sodas have three ingredients: sugar, mineral water, and flavoring. No artificial anything. Well, the diet sodas have aspertame instead of sugar, but that's still pretty good for the person who wants to be healthy and loves soda. Unfortunately, the non fruit sodas have ingredients like high-fructose corn syrup and the like. (They're still good, though.) All their stuff is in glass, too, so you don't have to worry about polycarbonates dissolving and entering your system.

Real quick--The other good thing I found was Walker's shortbread. That's made with butter, flour, and sugar. That's it. Just about the most dense and perfect shortbread ever, if you like the stuff. It's great to dip in black licorice tea, if you like that. Somehow, I seem to be the only one that thinks that's good. *looks around* That said, I seem to be the only one that I know that likes licorice tea at all.

smiley - smiley Until next time.

smiley - biggrinYes I love Walker's shortbread...not alot of shortbread out there that comes anywhere close to it! And actually I rather like licorice smiley - tea...haven't had in quite awhile y'know *mutters to himself*we may have to do something about that! (That does sound like a great combination, as they say 'a match made in-taste bud-heaven'.)

No I haven't tried Archer's Farm, but that Ginger Beer Soda sounds good. I certainly enjoy Ginger Beer.smiley - smiley

Yes, Walker's is the best I've ever tried. I once got some Girl Scout 'shortbread,' but it was completely tasteless and had all these ingredients you couldn't pronounce.

The licorice smiley - tea that I get is very strong, and if you ever put sugar in it it just ruins the taste. Milk has the same effect. Licorice is just sweet enough by itself.

The Ginger Beer leaves a very strange aftertaste, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Talk to you soon!

There're actually a fair number of herbal smiley - teas I enjoy. I have some Ginger/Peach in the cupboard, as well as some Vanilla rooibos, Valerian root (to help me sleep sometimes)and that Orange Blossom/Guava green smiley - tea(that I think I mentioned awhile ago). But you're right, Licorice tea doesn't need anything...except someone that appreciates it, to drink it!smiley - winkeye

As for the Ginger Beer(soda? right?) having an aftertaste, no not really a bad thing I suppose. If it's an acceptable or likeable(harmonious, I guess)one.

Right, talk to you soon!

Well, the smiley - chocolove (which coincidentally was crystallized ginger in dark smiley - choc....I guess I'm having a craving for ginger...) was really nice.

1.Yes, it is soda. 2. The aftertaste definitely was not bad, but I was drinking this with Linguine alla Marinara(pasta), and the two tastes provided a sharp bite when mingled. It was very unique, but it reminded me strongly of Listerine.

If you like Monty Python (I don't know if you do or not, but mentioning the Ben & Jerry's flavor makes me assume you do somewhat) John Cleese has a website that I find amusing. It's annoying, though, with all of its pop up windows. You might like it. In the videos section there's a bit about coffee you might want to see. www.thejohncleese.com is its name.

Later.

FYI John Cleese is/was one of the Python guys. The others(you probably know this already, but oh well) are Michael Palin, Terry Jones, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, and the late Graham Chapman.

Ah, thanks I didn't have that! Oh I'm aware that he was amember, or should I say belonged to the order of The Silly-dancing Python.smiley - winkeye

I was quite sure you'd enjoy the smiley - chocolove bars & the one with gingger is/was a great choice - I think darksmiley - chocgoes great with ginger. And imho darksmiley - chocis much better with mint than milksmiley - choc. I'll have to try that one though. I've had some nice ones with ginger, most recently some individual 'drops' or 'balls'(or whatever)from http://www.purdys.com & a Cocoa Camino http://www.cocoacamino.com bar with chili, ginger & cinnamon.

Hmm with Linguine alla Marinara hey? Interesting flavor combination I suppose. I'd want to try it with something like a good spice cake-or gingerbread-or apple pie or something...I guess even an apple turnover or apple cinnamon doughnut(*shrugs*but that's just me). I'm psyching myself into thesmiley - droolhungry thing!smiley - laugh

Yes later, I've Gotta find something to eat! smiley - run

John Cleese is a very interesting man....on his site you can have him do the silly walk of your choice.

The only fault I found in the ginger/dark smiley - choc was that the ginger flavor really didn't stick out. Well, at least it didn't stick out in comparison to the flavor of the ginger beer, which was fairly strong.

As it turns out, the aftertaste I described was present even when the ginger beer was drunk alone. It wasn't the linguine after all.

It's a good thing I just ate.....I'd be starving if I didn't.smiley - winkeye

Hey how's it goin'? I'm Finally(even I can't believe I waited this long)having some of that Haagen Dazs Mayan smiley - chocice cream ...it really Is great!!smiley - ok A nice cinnamon in there, which complements the smiley - choc ~ gotta watch it, I could get hooked on this Big Time!smiley - winkeye Just thought I should let you know that I've tried it...at long last!

Oh, yes. I haven't had any of that stuff in so long. However, I do think that I know someplace else that I might be able to buy it. I'm keeping fingers crossed too, and I'll check back on that next time I'm there.

So, have you tried any new smiley - choc, smiley - tea, or smiley - coffee recently? I probably need to try to attain some new smiley - tea before I go mad.

Just munching some dark(semisweet, 60%) smiley - choc with almonds that's made up here/locally - http://www.bernardcallebaut.com ...oh & also stumbled on some really nice(dark, 70%)imported Belgiansmiley - choc! Unfortunately a limited supplysmiley - erm, but I'll certainly be on the lookout for more - http://www.isischocolates.com .

No smiley - tearecently, although I've really kind of been tasting subtlties & chacteristics in smiley - coffee that I previously would've associated or expected more with smiley - tea. Or hints of fruity sweetness, nuttiness, spiciness that wine experts point out. A great example being some Ethiopian Harrar beans that I'd heard everyone saying has recognizable blueberry notes- http://www.coffeeresearch.org/coffee/ethiopia.htm . The first time I roasted them a bit dark & caught a bit of blueberry in the aroma. When I roasted them lighter it was definitely there though...kinda blew me away!

Well, it seems to me that I've been eating quite a lot of cheap malted milk balls lately. They're still good though.

Wow. You are keeping busy, aren't you?smiley - winkeye Well, I think I'll go and make some smiley - tea to make up for my lack of quality smiley - choc.

You are becoming quite the smiley - coffee expert. smiley - ok Congrats!
