I've always wanted to leave a tape recording in an empty room overnight, to see if anything turns up on playback... but i've always been a bit too chicken to do it!

It's not quite finished yet; it's a few "noisy" diodes in a screened metal box; the upshot is you get the same sort of "white noise" you would get from a detuned radio, but if any voices show up no-one can accuse it of being just a distant radio station.
I got it working last night for about two minutes, but moving the wires about caused a great deal of crackling due to my lousy soldering... I'm going to remake all the joints, probably tomorrow, and find a cassette to try it out with. Nore reports when I have them...
