The disappearing object that's been put down ten seconds prevously trick.
This trick will work with any tool, or useful object, that is imediately required after putting it down. Just place the item down in a place where it can obviously be found again, and turn away for a short time to perform another task. Upon returning to the item, you will find, in a matter of seconds, it has vanished, not to be found again for at least several minutes. A skillful magician can cause the item to disappear for such a long period of time, that an alternative item is located after much annoyed searching. The original item then promptly returns to a blatantly obvious place to be found again.Conversations
