Dirk Gently goes TV?
The Duke of Dunstable Started conversation Oct 13, 2009
Both Robbie Stamp and Ed Victor have confirmed that there is serious talks about turning the Dirk Gently novels into a TV series. It is unclear at the moment if these talks are with the BBC or with Granada TV, but something is stirring.
I'll be back with more, as soon as I have been successful in prying info out of a pinned down Robbie.

Just got off a chat with Robbie now, and he is sorry he doesn't know very much about this at the moment. There is still some confusion if it's BBC or Granada/ITV that's being talked to. Perhaps ITV doing it for BBC. It remains to be solved. But there is a script which, according to Ed Victor, is brilliant. Ed is in Germany (being a frankfurter) this week, or I would have contacted him to find out who wrote the script, so perhaps next week I'll know.

Cheers, Pierce!
Douglas brother James says now that the talks started with Granada/ITV but is now with the BBC, which is where I sort of feel it belongs.

Have you heard of or seen "The last chance to see" with Stephen Fry and another friend of DNA. It's almost like he's a sleeping partner in the production. There are several fond references to him in every episode.

We get updates on the DAC from people in the UK who is watching the series. You do know, Vestie, that Douglas and Mark Carwardine made the exact same trip in the early nineties, and that Stephen and Mark have done it again to check how things have gone?

Yes, they do refer to previous trips and who saw what in the series.
There was an amusing incident where the Kakapo took Mark's head to be a Kakapo that wanted "relations" and gave him a right seeing to.
I didn't know where to look! So I stayed watching TV and laughing loudly.
