I'm in California. Teeny place called Crescent City, 6 hours north of San Francisco.

The news from the US this week has been dire! I hope you are well and safe and that goes for all of your family and friends.
Do you mean 6 hours driving? We generally only use time, instead of miles, in the UK when it's under about 2 hours. I suppose that is because we are so much smaller than English speaking countries around the world. If 6 hours equates to about 300 miles you would have me into Scotland from here, or the middle of France!
