I've subscribed smiley - ta
With that one, it is a dash and there should be a space before the 18+, to match 'AA – Only over 14 and X – 18+'. If you want to change it to AA: Only over 14 and X: 18+' to avoid confusion as I agree that '-18+' might look odd then that's fine.

Or you might legitimately be asking 'did X really mean 18+?'. It originally meant 16+ but during the time of these films the X age grade had been raised to 18.

>>At first he hoped to make an adaptation of John Carter but was unable to afford to buy the rights.<<

"John Carter" is that "Warlord of Mars" or should John Carter be in italics, if you mean a John Carter book/film. I don't remember a book called John Carter. smiley - ta

You're right, it was the rights to the character that were pursued - how closely it would have been to 'A Princess of Mars' or any other specific smiley - book will never be known but possibly not very.

You can tweak it to:
At first he hoped to make an adaptation set on Mars that featured Burrough's character John Carter, but was unable to afford to buy the rights.

or similar.

The Land that Time Forgot and At the Earth's Core - yes. I don't remember the People that Time Forgot. I confess though, that I will watch any film with dinosaurs in, even the naff ones. I asked my Tivo box to record "100 Million BC" and my partner and I wasted 90 minutes of our lives watching it at the weekend smiley - cdouble don't bother, in case you're thinking of adding it to your wishlist, it was dire smiley - sadface
