"Good morning"
"Morning sir. Welcome to the National Cheese Emporium."
"Ahh, thank you my good man."
"What can I do for you?"

I haven't got the script handy, but....
"I was sitting on yonder bench, perusing The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, and suddenly I felt decidingly peckish."

*Peregrin's memory fails him completely.* Something about fermented curd or suchlike. It's very funny though. I would have put all of the cheeses mentioned in the script on my voting thingy but it only allows 20

"Peckish sir?"
"Esurient."
"Ehhh."
"I was a little hungry like."
"Ahh hungry."
"In a nutshell. Anyways. I thought to myself a little fermented curd would do the trick. So I curtailed my Walpolling activities, sallied forth, and infiltrated your place of purveyance to negotiate the vendage of some cheesy comestibles."

I don't believe they showed it over here in the states. I do not know though. They showed something a while ago where they all(surviving members)got together and were honored at a comedy festival over here. It was pretty funny. They brought the remains of Graham Chapman out in an urn and during the course of the evening "accidentily" knocked Graham over. It was pretty funny. I have heard rumors of them getting back together for something, but I am sure that you know more than I.

Thanks! I'll take a look.
A month or so ago the Pythons all got together live on TV for a historic *first live broadcast of the Pythons all together since whenever* kind of thing. They had some big name host advertising it for ages beforehand, and a *massive* build up to it.
The show itself started with a magnificent fanfare, and the host introduced all the Pythons by name. Then the show ended. And that was it!

The Jack Simmons Interview.
Who was the guy on satellite again? Eric Idle?

That sounds exactly like something they would do. On the special I saw, Terry Gilliam was explaining an idea they had once but never put into action. They wanted to slowly turn down the broadcast volume throughout the show so that the viewers at home would have to keep turning up their tvs. When the televisions were up to the highest volume, they were going to then procure a loud noise and try to break every television tuned into their show. I thought it was a great idea. I don't know if they ever did it though.

Excellent idea. It reminds me of the American DJ who was prosecuted for murder. He told listeners that they could have an electrifying experience by dropping their radios into their baths. Three of them did.
Terry Gilliam was on live satellite link from the US - cheating a bit!

Sorry I haven't replied in forever. I have been home from school for winter break. I just returned today. The connection at college is infinitely faster than my connection at home, so I didn't really check h2g2 much. I hope you are doing well and had a nice holiday season. I hope to hear from you.

I've just arrived back myself... my h2g2 time is becoming more erratic now. I happen to be online now because I'm waiting for one of the university print workstations to realise it's existence.

I hope you were successful. Myself and a few guys on my hall watched The Meaning of Life the other day. It was the first time I had seen that movie. I thought it was ok. I am sure I need to watch it again to catch more of the intricacies, but at first showing I didn't think it was nearly as funny or brilliant as Holy Grail or some of their sketches. Perhaps I need to watch it again. I would like to hear your thoughts on the subject.

The Meaning Of Life was the last film the Pythons did and they themselves weren't very happy with it, they thought it lacked the humour of the first ones. It was pretty much the only one with a big budget, which kind of spoilt it I think because they had big dancing scenes and special effects instead of completely silly effects like a very unbelievable three headed monster and bizarre flying saucers.
The Holy Grail and The Life Of Brian are far better, simply awesome films. If you haven't seen Brian yet I recommend you do, it's fantastic.
The Meaning of Life does have some good stuff... it kind of grows on you. It's more a case of recognising scenes you like rather than finding out new ones. My particular favourite is the scene with Death and the dinner party. It's fantastically satirical.

I shall definitely have to watch the movie again. I did like the death skit though. I also liked the "marching up and down the square." I didn't know about the budget. I thought the "every sperm is sacred" dance number was funny because the topic of the song and the sound-of-music type song that accompanied it clashed. I have seen most of Life of Brian, but not all. I shall have to do that one weekend as I received Life of Brian on DVD.
Random question:did you ever check out the cheese forum that was recommended many messages earlier? I have tried to go there a few times and every time I do, my computer either freezes or the page takes forever to load.

I shall probably not check it out then. Well, I believe for the moment we have reached an impass in the Monty Python conversation. Do you know of any news about the group? I have not heard of anything. If you have not, is there another topic of conversation you would like to discuss. I cannot think of anything right now, but would like to continue some form of conversation. Let me know.
