Dr E Vibenstein (You know it is, it really is.) Started conversation Mar 12, 2003
Well, it was a hectic weekend, but, boffo, a good one. Finished work at 5:30 on Friday evening, within an hour I was at the airport. Of course the plane was late anyway so I needn't have rushed, but by the end of the day I was taking up useful sofa space in Mina's house, drinking her tea and being investigated by her dog.
Saturday morning, and despite the Underground's best efforts I still managed to meet up with Abi for a much-need caffeine boost, before meeting Galaxy Babe and Leopardskinfynn at Kings Cross and retiring to the pub for a spot of lunch. Spent the afternoon in the British Museum, having picked up Coelacanth along the way.
Once we were all historied out, the pub seemed a good idea. Unfortunately the rest of London thought so too. Unable to actually get in, we toyed briefly with the idea of sitting outside, before the sub-zero temperatures forced us into a nearby coffee shop while we waited for the cultured people to go to the theatre and leave the pub to us. Once inside, Mina and Blues Shark arrived, followed by the other half of the meet, which had already been going on elsewhere for several hours. The other half of the meet quickly left again after discovering the price of a pint, and was therefore left out of the photos (which are still not uploaded, give me a chance!
) and the All-England Withnail And I Quoting Competition which followed. Got back to Mina's house, apparently.
Dragged myself out of bed on Sunday morning in time to wander aimlessly through London in search of a working tube train, and still managed to get AGB on the correct train home. Accompanied Mina, Blues Shark and Mina's on a short walking holiday through London, before abandoning the tube in favour of a bus journey. Saw lots of interesting tourist attractions, and indeed tourists.
And so, back to the airport, allowing plenty of time for some leisurely duty free shopping before the flight home. Er, no. The airport has 99 departure gates, and seemingly only two security x-ray machines. Still, got home safely, and into work on Monday, bright and breezy
as if nothing had happened.

Yes.
I've had two glasses of water and some 7Up.
The song words should be to the tune of the title song for Fame. Abi was referring to the great unwashed that decended upon the city (of Westminster) yesterday.
Liam.

Are you suggesting that the cast of Fame never washed? How dare you?

I am not suggesting it. I am informing you. It is a well known fact that washing was forbidden on the set of Fame.
and ass wont get you far, unless they're yours.
Liam.
