.. to play a role in an upcoming role-playing scenario. The specific scenario that will be played is detailed here:

and it has a link to some general rules, etc. I hope to host more of these in the future (this is the first one). The role you will play, should you decide you want to, is Seaman Johan Martens. The private thread for him is up on the main scenario page and it contains a character description. You'll understand its purpose when you read the rules page. Note that there are 4 characters with the first name Johan, so be sure to read the correct one.
(That was my more-or-less standard invitation). We haven't met formally before, but I have seen you a few times in passing. You were recommended for this game by SPINY, who is also playing a part. I'm not sure how many of the other participants you will know, but they are all very friendly and good role-players, so you should feel comfortable in no time. I think this is going to be a lot of fun.
Anyway, I am still getting things set up (a few last roles to fill). The cast (so far) are already hanging around waiting for it to start - check out the pre-start thread on the scenario page (but don't give anything away about your character). They are currently working on costumes. You might also want to leave a bookmark in the "Announcements" thread, so you will know when the thing starts.
Let me know (either here or on the private thread) if you do or don't want to participate.

Er, GL, sorry about this, but I don't really seem to have the time these days to hang around h2g2 like I used to, and I don't think I can really spend as much time on this as it deserves. Do you think you could find a replacement for me? Sorry....

I'm sorry to have to leave, it's just that I'm having these unwelcome attacks of real life....
I'll still be around h2g2, just not for long enough periods to give the role-playing my full attention.
