What the hell has happened to my Smarties entry?

It was really long, and you've edited it down to the first paragraph!!!

Plus it isn't even a copy of the original it's the original that has been shortened?

This isn't meant to happen! Tell me this isn't happening... I spent hours on that!

OK Panic over! Sorry about that, I got a bit scared.

The original article doesn't appear on my page any more for some reason so I couldn't find it. Why did you edit my entry down so much though?

Um, I think this was all explained in that other thread...

When I recieved the article to subedit a couple of weeks ago, it was somehow truncated - either by my emailer or by some problem at the BBC. I subbed what I received and sent it in, mentioning to Ashley that it was a bit short.

He quickly realised there had been some mistake and retrieved the full original text and sent it to me. I subbed the whole thing and sent it back in last week sometime, where it's about to go up, I think - the whole thing.

What's on your page at the moment will change to reflect the complete subbed article as soon as it goes up on the front page.

It looks fine to me at the moment - let me know if there are any problems with it and I'll see what I can do.

Glad it's all fine, then. I hardly had to touch any of it, actually - it's a great article. Just a few GuideML things here and there, which Ashley also helped to straighten out.

The bit where you fixed up the UK perspective bias at the beginning made me laugh. This is why editors are invaluble, you can see things for a different viewpoint.

I'm still getting to grips with GuideML. I have many bad habits learnt from HTML. I'll have to compare the GuideML of the two entries sometime to see what I did wrong.
