My new house.

Today I sorted out my new house for next year. I'm going to be staying with 4 mates and its going to be brilliant. I can't thing what the first day there is going to be like. Probably sort of an alcoholic haze.

Wounded - Me!

Arrrggghhhh! Today I crashed my bike! The handlebars had been loose and I thought I'd fixed them. Unfortunately this was not so and as I was doing a jump over a speed bump (these things are meant to make you slow down, but they just make me speed up to do jumps), the handlebars came off in my hands. Then the front wheel, being attatched to the handlebars also came off. I am now grazed down the whole of my left hand side. Plus me and a mate had to carry the 2 remaining parts 3 miles home. Poo.

Oceans or Lakes? - You Decide.

Maybe fellow hikers can help me. Me and a mate have been having a discussion on and off for the best part of a year. That is, which is better - oceans or lakes?
Now the ocean wins the first round obviously by having a higher salt content. However this is countered by the lake's ability to be at any altitude - NOT JUST AT SEA-LEVEL.
The ocean on the other hand supports a larger variety of fish and other marine life. But there are only 7 oceans in the world, compared to countless thounsands of lakes.
By far the most convincing argument I think is that in a fight with a platypus the ocean would win, killing it in a matter of hours with its salt. Wheras the lake would give it a home for life, failing in any way to bring an end to it's short, platypus life.

I would appreciate any views.
