Nil Iligitamus Carborundum eh?
We're obviously two of a kind - I visit the Hunger Site regularly and am and avid supporter if Amnesty...
Hmm... wonder what else we have in common...
Terry Pratchett? Madness? The Divine Comedy? Living on an island noone else has ever heard of? (You havenn't heard of a place called Orkney by any chance?)
Well, ta anyway

Now that's ridiculous!! I was going to post "nil desperandum illigitimos carborundum" to you but decided against it because I am NOT a student of Latin and wasn't sure that it was correct! It is one of my favourite sayings though. Great minds etc...
What else do we have in common??
Terry Pratchett?? YES! Nanny Og is my idol, and Breakwind er ah.. Rincewind is my role model I met Terry Pratchett twice.
Madness?? ... the band?? like them but not what I would call a fan - the philosophy?? definitely an adherent!!!
The Divine Comedy?? Dante's?? read it years ago - like it but didn't memorise it - but if you mean The Divine Comedy - Life - yep but then I haven't tried the alternative.
Also like Anne MacCaffrey's (sp?) books - I am a romantic at heart and enjoy the escapism of fantasy (science or romantic) but am a prolific reader and enjoy lots of different styles. I also enjoy most kinds of music - as long as it is GOOD I will give it a listen.
Living on an island no one else has ever heard of? (You haven't heard of a place called Orkney by any chance?) - of course I've heard of it - island group off Scotland - right?? I believe that they have a cultural identity crisis - weren't they once Scandinavian and were given to Scotland as someone's wedding present?? Also famous for a unique style of fiddle music - right?? Do I have the right place?? I may be a bit confused - you see I come from an island too - one called Australia - I live in Sydney.
Isn't it nice making new friends here??
Here's to new friends

Isn't it just.
Oh, I meant "The Divine Comedy" as in the group (Generation Sex, National Express, Frog Princess etc.). You don't like the Madness philosophy? Well I might just have to break off all future contact. Headrd "Ghost Train" or "Michael Caine"? Bloody good philosophies there.

"Divine Comedy" - the group??? and all the others??? Suddenly I feel totally ignorant - and OLD!! enlighten me! Tell me about "Ghost Train" and "Michael Caine" too *sits down and looks entranced*
Madness - the philosophy - I DEFINITELY subscribe!
With all due respect - look up "adherent" - it's not someone who listens to commercials
BTW - have been working on my space - what do you think???
Key: Complain about this post
