I don't think there's enough of us to do that.

Geocities seem to be prety darn unpleasant as it is, without us trying to make things worse for them.

Shall we start HAG anyway? (Hitchikers Against Geoshities)

My reasons would be:
1) Unreliable
2) Invasive advertising (all those annoying pop-up windows)
3) User unfriendly urls
4) ... oh come on, I must be able to think of more than 4...

Help anyone?

Why we hate Geoshities #4:
They destroyed Fenny's fish!

Actually, a lot of my favourite Secret Of NIMH sites are from Geocities, but that's beside the point!

I say we make HAG an official organisation! Even if they do restore Fenny's fish, they've still annoyed me, and I never forgive or forget!!!

Technically I doubt that they actually *destroyed* Fenny's fish. They just stopped them being available to everyone else.

But then I suppose that if you define the existence of a being as having to be such that other beings can see, hear, or feel it (even if no other beings are there to do the seeing or hearing or feeling), then Fenny's fish could be said to be no longer in existence, so we can go ahead and say that Geoshities went and destroyed them anyway.

So, you're an elephant then, Mike?

I have my fish saved on my hard drive, Im going to post it to my web space and see if that works (of course, its geocities too doh!)

Hmm, yes. Well I was going to save my fish, and put it on xoom, but any images I tried to use in h2g2 that I have didn't seem to work very well, so I left it with Fenny since it always seemed to work ok, until...

So until Fenny can restore her fish, I have no copy of my fish at all

If anyone's interested, I've been one for about 2 and a half months (since October 2nd).

Last I remember 26 weeks???? I think since the middle of summer. I cannot remember exactly. My number is 28338 and my homepage was page #88418 if I recall correctly.I do not know how the numbering system works. There were less than 25k in Sept IIRC and they just announced the 30000th researcher last week or so.
