General Introduction
Greetings, All!
Glad to be a part of this group...stumbled onto it while looking up some Latin and Gothic translations...
Although I professionally work on IT procedures and processes, I'm more at home in Egyptology. Language, history and the cultural anthropology slant to their world. Very much into their paintings and the symbolism within their art. I've painted all my home office walls with authentic tomb paintings and hieroglyphic quotes from Egyptian literature.
While I'm not studying Egypt I'm digging into historical events and unrelated aspects of history: the Battle of Visby in 1361, Roman mining in Cyprus in 19 BC and Gothic interactions with Rome (Theodoric's kingship). I'm trying to learn Swedish for an upcoming visit to Gotland.
I round out my time in a rock band. Just started up a year ago, so I'm not performing as much as I would like. Bass, vocals, 12 string guitar. Nothing esoteric, although I'm targeting Yes, Jethro Tull, Genesis (and Anthony Phillips) as well as Renaissance. Music is a study of extremes: my vocal background is madrigals, but to make money I sing country music. Do I have a life? Well, you be the judge. :)
