Work today ...
Posted Dec 19, 2000
I had a pretty hoopy day at work today. Where I'm currently working I'm able to bring CDs from home, and headset, to listen to at work. I've been taking in my Residents CDs the last week or so. Today I took in my 6 Hitchhiker's Guide Radio Series CDs in and listened to them all day. Maybe I'll take them in again tomorrow.
Another round of ACE recruiting just concluded. We just added a bunch of new, friendly ACEs to the group. Go ACEs!

Greetings :)

I'm still employed at the moment and things seem to be going well at work. I'm in a temp-to-hire position at the moment, but I'm not planning on getting hired on with this company. I'd rather stay with the temp agency for more experience before settling into a permenant position somewhere. Besides, I tend to get plenty of time off with the temp agency.
The Denver pre- Get Together went pretty well I think. I was fortunate enough to be able to meet Gw7en and Fragilis in person. The show we saw (a mentalist/hypnotist) didn't allow to sit back and talk much, but it was still an enjoyable evening. I gave hypnotisim a try and got up on stage, but lost my consentration laughing at the performers jokes so I didn't stay up there long.
I'm looking forward to the actual Denver Get Together so we, and the other Researchers who didn't make it last night, can actually sit back and hang out.

Employed ....
Posted Nov 10, 2000
Well, I'm finally employed egain. I started working for a Temp agency that a friend of mine refered me to. He's worked there for some time now and seems to like it OK. Since I stayed at my last job for four years, and the one before that for four years as well, I'm looking forward to working some short-term jobs and building on my range of experience.
In other news ... I finally got a working copy of Linux on my computer now, almost. Everything seems to work fine except the modem, but I think that's because my laptop came with an incompatable (to Linux anyway) Winmodem. One of the first things I want to do now that I'm employed again is to save up for a new computer that will be 100% Linux compatable.

Still jobless :(
Posted Nov 6, 2000
Well, unfortunately that last job I posted about didn't go through. I'm currently looking into other options and my job hunt is keeping me pretty busy in RL. Hopefully I'll have a new job by the end of this week.
In other news ... I finally got Linux installed on my laptop and on my second computer. Unfortunately niether of them have internet access via Linux. I'm still connecting via my laptop in Windows mode. I've found out that the modem in my laptop is a winmodem, but on the bright side there is a driver available for it to run under Linux. Now all I have to do is figure out how to install the driver. I'm new to this Linux stuff and I'm still in the floundering stages.
