hi I'm a new member
Hi everyone, I've just joined the community and looking forward to getting talking to new people.
I read conversations in the past and realise many of you have established friendships. Looking forward to getting to know y'all. :-)
Welcome to the webpage that I will entitle 'Tales of a frustrated writer', until i think of something better.
Well where do I start? I'm a newspaper journalist - working full-time. I'm a mum of four kids aged 1, 2,6 and 13. I enjoy writing - I actually used to write poems and short stories when I was younger. I spent a short time as a rapper when I was in my teens - but didn't fancy taking it too seriously, though a friend of mine went on to release a well known dance tune that had a successful chart-rating. I studied script writing for tv, radio and theatre at uni and went on to study journalism some years later. My first job was a hair dresser - I specialised in afro-carribean hair. I've also worked in department shops and clothes shops, so I've got a whole heap of experience under my belt and lots to be getting on with I guess!
As much as I love my current career, I would also like to write for children. My eldest child is a talented writer and afternoon we watched a programme on her favourite author Jacqueline Wilson. Well I can say for sure, we've both been left very inspired to get cracking on our writing again.
So here I am a frustrated writer, wanting and needing to write, but wondering where to start - maybe I'll have a better idea tomorrow. Until then, I think I'll go and ponder some more! :-)
