Yes, it was. It was a HUGE protest against the World BAnk and the International Monetary Fund and other such things. Early estimates were of about 10,000 people showing up. There were large groups of people doing civil disobediance. It was insane. But it was awesome to be there. (I stuck mostly to the legal demonstrations)

I walked around for a while to the various blockades people were forming at different intersections. They were awesome - people had huge drum circles going, and giant puppets, and all this great chalk graffiti on the streets, and there were one with people playing soccer, and this one guy went right up to the police barricade playing his saxophone. And there were bumper stickers that said Muggles, Wake Up!

Hi Ioreth, I sort of almost talked to you in the Aroma Cafe a few hours ago, I like your page. Did you really get suspended just for dancing in the rain? Some people just don't understand what life should be like Want to compare British and American politics?

Any time. I did that with Ormondroyd, actually, but the more the better.
And yes, I really did. Kind of sad, how ignorant they are.

Better things in life than the internet? Yeah, I suppose there are, although I've given myself to the viewpoint that since all reality is virtual anyways, it matters very little which addiction we choose to spend our time satiating.
It goes with me. I'm not a janitor anymore, so that's something I guess. Enlightened? Not really... life still confounds the hell out of me. I read news for a living now, which means I'm pretty up to date on the Middle East body count totals, which is why I was wondering if you were still alive or not.
Happy new year and stuff anyways. You can always try emailing me if you are finding it difficult to get on H2G2. You're an interesting correspondent, so chances are I might even get around to replying sometime. Have fun.
