Well im i havn't been around much ive kind of been busy and i got out of the hootoo habit missed all my friends and ive decided to make an effort to catch up on some ole pals and see how everyone is doing.
We've been down to Cornwall twice since we last chatted, gardens looking slightly higgledepiggledee but had a good show of blooms dispite the wet weather.
my manners how are you? Are you and your good lady wife keeping well? Kind regards to her from me.
hows your job? And your wild country out there? Plenty of wild life i bet
well ive been busy with the children my oldest has left school and now seems to have grown to 12 foot tall where does the time go? He's now in the sixth form and he's on what they call a pre services course which hopefully will set him on the track to become a policeman lots of fitness training and people skills study. and I.T courses. Ive seen a huge difference in him the last few weeks, not only has he grown to such an extent i hardly reconise him but he's matured so much. my middle daughter is on a training course to become a nurse she's been on that for three weeks now and she loves it and my youngest is still the fanatic as always they have all seemed to have grown so much in the last few weeks. cost a bomb in clothes so im sorry i havnt been in contact john but as you can see ive been somewhat busy
And ive still managed to outthe mother in law from hell please let me know how you are John and how your countrys doing
Kind regards Liz

Hi, stranger!
You have been busy! You must be very proud of your son and daughter for getting on so well and achieving so much. It must be very tough to become a policeman or a nurse, a lot of hard work; I image that there is a lot of competion for places in training programs for both jobs. They deserve a lot of credit. Well done!
Life here is ticking along nicely, thank you. It's a pleasant time of the year, especially nice this year with lovely mild weather and lots of sunshine. There is a bit of a nip in the air today though; so it won't be too long before snowball weather is here again . It's nice to have the time to putter about a bit after the busy spring and summer months.
It's been a fairly wet summer here. People have been going around with long faces complaining about not having a proper summer. Well, maybe not if measured by our usual standard of being roasted and everything burnt to a crisp by the end of July. But, if you ask me, it was lovely: not too hot and just enough rain to keep everything green and fresh.
The girls I worked with this summer were a breath of fresh air. We had a lot of laughs over the course of the summer. And we managed to get some work done, too. I miss them now that they have gone back to school; although we do still keep in touch.
We have seen quite a varied assortment of wildlife this year, especially along the river bank and the lake shore. We've seen mink and beavers, as well as all sorts of birds. Every year the assortment of birds seems to get better; I don't know why, unless it's to do with the weather again. It's funny, but I think that most people in the cities in southern Ontarion would say that there aren't beavers and such around here. The trouble is that most of them don't get up early enough to see them or know where to look.
Give my regards to your family.
Cheers,
JTG
ps Congratulations on staying ahead of the mother in law from hell.

Hi there.
You've got daffs coming up and I've got daffs I haven't got around to planting, I embarrasssed to say. We get the gardens we deserve, don't we?
The weather here has been quite mild, too, so far... touch wood. I don't care for winter, either. The snow's nice to look at, when you're warm inside the house. But it makes getting about a nuisance.
I'm glad to hear that your son is doing well in his training, and your daughters are getting on with their studies. It's easy to forget how hard it is to meet all the challenges life throws at you at that age. They deserve a lot of credit for getting on like that. I keep in touch with the girls who worked in the gardens with me and I have to admire the way they deal with all the demands that their school work, and all the rest that goes with it, throws at them.
Things are settling in to the usual Christmas distraction here, with people running abou, getting their shopping done, and not bothering much about anything else, it seems. My summer garden helpers will be coming by for a visit next week; so I'm looking forward to seeing them and catching up on the gossip.
Have a very merry Christmas and I wish you all a very happy New Year. Love to all.
JTG
