Best to take it easy until you have recovered; watch the wildlife; and supervise the 'hired hands'.
The patient to patient publication is a great idea. There is so much information that should be shared. There has been a number of Entries about various medical conditions that have received very positive response here. So I think there will be a lot of support for your new project. I hope it is a great success.

Being forced to rest and recuperate gives you the chance to sit and think that you might otherwise not have given yourself time for.

Actually I am very well, I CAN water my flowers, but truly limited with typing. Have some crazy research to do: Keeping eye on Hawaii. I was there 3 times. I know the place. This is no time to go, unless wants to be very cheap.
But my crazy doctor just went with his psychotic girl friend. Have all the report that I am not talking just into the air. Honestly I do not understand many things.
So much for that: here is a very nice summer, lot of " canadian hipressure" warm, but not humid. It is crime to go anywhere now from here.
Next time perhaps will be able to write more. With my Blue Bird Love.

You're certainly very welcome.
Summer, here, is ticking along nicely now. The temperature still seems to be going up and down a bit eratically. The gardens are starting to fill in and look more respectably now, too; although the wildflowers have been disappointing.
There are lots of rabbits everywhere. I don't remember ever seeing so many! I've told my summer helpers that, if anyone comments about our rather sad-looking new 'Butterfly Garden', they are to be told that it is a 'Rabbit Garden'... a very successful one!

I was doing something else: while getting better got busy with silly things. Also very bad storms struck here. NEW JERSEY in total diseaster. ( 13 inch rain in an hour?) Flood of 1 in 1000 years.
Also wrote some E-mails to England friend what does not go on internet.(health care issues.)
Do Lot of researching, printouts about Hawaii. Results worse than though, and makes me very sad.
A very hard working man-- my doctor--would deserve better vacation, but you know: one can help only, if the one, who would need help will accept the Rx! Perhaps he knows it from his own work! Hit the rockbottom,-- and than may be to do something. Very frustrating work.
I am driving again and paid the highest price ever for gas!
But at least the entire summer was nice so far exept the lot of rain.Perhaps rabbits like the rain because the growing vegetables keeps them happy.
JTG I thought you know: it is easier to grow the most hybrid flowers, than wild flowers! They will do what they want, not what you would like! I wanted to make a meadow here too, -- never worked!
The wild is wild and you will not tame it! I'll be working more now!

That's true. The modern hybrids are generally easier to grow, because they are bred to be tough and enduring as much as to be pretty... just like the fruit and vegetables we buy are bred with trucks and supermarkets in mins, and have no real taste.
Mother Nature has been generous with me, though. She knows that I will let my wildflower gardens be wild and not try to impose myself on her designs.
The wildflowers of this year are finally starting to grow and bloom, better late than never.
We have had some crazy rain stormms here, too. The city of Peterborough, an hour or so east of Toronto, was nearly washed away during the week.
Gasoline prices here, too, have been going crazy, up and down (more up than down) without any apparent justification. I'm glad that you are recovering well and are able to drive again.

You know JTG, there are uttery charming events is my little garden of "wild life". When I see my one and only squirrel coming to me with his trust, that he will not be hurt--- I am really touched.
But than are also UTTERY NASTY things happening too! The cardinals have been always peculier birds. Particularly the males can have totally ugly behavior!!! I wrote about it in "the winter sunset,"how they chase the females away from the feeding tray!!
But the other night a baby cardinal came when the male (father) was eating diligently on the ground. The baby was asking him for a little seed. The nasty old man would not give a "damn" as the baby repeatedly asked him. Than he flu away, paying no attention to the baby. I could see, the baby had difficulty to pick up a seed!
Other birds bring the babies to the feeder, but they show a few times, how to pick up the seeds. Than they learn and they become independent. The most caring and charming birds are the sparrows!
Only the MALE cardinal can be so nasty as no other birds!!! When I saw this I thought: How good that I have JTG as a friend to tell my complaint: who would understand me so well?
Lot of rain makes here the vegetation happy and lush. But somewhere else can be totally devastating with floods!!!

Little treasures like your special friendship with your squirrel are what make life worth living; whether you are rich or poor, it's the little things that you hold dear.
I think birds such as cardinals are like people: The loudest and the most colouful are nearly always the meanest. Sparrows often bicker too; but they are more like children in a large family in that they quickly forget their differences and their hurt feelings. They always chatter and complain, but they know they still have a place in the flock.
This certainly has been a summer of extremes so far. Tonight there is yet another severe thunderstorm rolling towards us. Next, a heat wave for a few days. Tomorrow will be a day for conserving energy in shady places I think.

2 full days of total loss. Wrote about hospital stuff very carefully researched with helping intentions, envelopes, stamps-- ready to send to them as feedback.
Than got an impertinent telephone call from 2 women like charched bulls yelling at me, because of a big error they made and I wrote about it. OK now,--- I destroyed everything I wrote.
Silence is the answer, "shot up" and let's go in peace.--
No, they don't want help,- they want to be right even if the building would collaps! So much for the help.!!!! Only human stupidity is here to stay--- for ever...
Hot and humid. Stay with A/C indoors. Don't do much. Changing my mind.
I am not going to make a publication. I am just watering the flowers between rains. Summer is slipping slowly.... the birds will molt soon and also will shot up. No more love songs til next year!
The cardinal baby comes on his own. It is an only child this year. Last year I had 2.
The old man is coming also on his own, the mother eat too by herself. So is family life at the cardinals.
Because of the heat the feeder is not so important. Only in the morning is very busy. They also get water. But than that attracts cats!!! Well than good night! with Blue Bird

Torrential rain coming. There goes the garden again. Turn the machine off, get my flash lights. What kind of a night will be? I am going in the "storm room", I am there anyway it is cooler there, though A/C are everywhere. After the rain tomorrow some very cool air coming from CANADA. Bless you! BB

John the gardener says, "Free Tibet!" Posted Jul 25, 2004
I hope you got some of the cooler air. It is very much cooler here today. Wednesday and Thursday was more like Burma than Canada! Still, there was some breeeze from the lake; so the high temperture and humidity wasn't as bad as it could have been.
This morning, it looks like there is more rain on the way. It is getting darker by the minute. We don't have to worry about flooding here, as we are perched high on an ancient river bank, high above where the river now flows.
I'm sorry you are being plagued by stupid people. The garden is the best place to be when human beings are too troublesome!
The mystery of this summer is 'where are the baby swans?' The adult swans are plentiful, swimming about on the lake. But they don't seem at all interested in raising new swans this year. So far, there have been no new babies on the creek, which is very strange. Usually, there are at least two swan families with babiies at this time of year.

There are swans here too at a near by extention of Long Island Sound. There were 30 of them. But it was years ago when I used to go to watch them. For a while I don't go that way, so I don't know about their life now.
But on the gulf course are very many canadian geese; if the grass would be just covered with them. They used to parade around with many babies, which are extremely charming to watch. Also some winters they stay here!
These year I just did not spend much time around the beach where the gulf course is near by.
But I told you the cardinals also had only one baby!!!
I got a new birdfeeder in full swing now. One side is plexy glass so I can see perfectly the happenings in the feeder. It is protected from the squirrels. Not to worry: they too get fed on their own place every day.
Feeling pretty good in these days, but one of a "drug" ( medicin) bothers me a lot and have to get rid of it. My doctor is obsessed with this, and I don't need it.I used to have many times disagreement with him: because everybody knows their own body the best, IF one listen to the talk of your body!!!
Actually I have great understanding and sympathy for the doctors, because how can any one of them know what is your body and mind all about when you walk into his office!? So I do a lot of research on the computer and be as much help in diagnosis as in treatment when it comes to my health! Very useful.
Mostly I am busy to drive around and get the wheel again in control as I used to.
Have sometimes some household help ( an albanian woman) but mostly just for saving time. I'd like to be able to concentrate more on writing.
Thanks for your reply as always it is pleasure to read what you write!
BB greetings with

I'm glad you're feeling better. That's very sensible to do as much research as you can about health concerns and medical treatment. After all, doctors have such little time to spend on each patient and cannot know any of them better than the patient knows him- or herself.
It is getting dark early this evening, as yet another storm approaches. Still, we are lucky compared to the people in Bangladesh. I just saw on the news that half of their country is underwater and an incredible 20 million people have been forced out of their homes. It makes me wonder how a country can continue to function in conditions like that!
The baby geese are cute, but my summer helpers say that they look like little dinosaurs when they start to get their first feathers. Their wings look like short fuzzy arms until they grow their flight feathers.

You don't believe that I am here. It was 2 weeks ago the last posting.
Because I got so well, I got very busy and very little time for the computer.
My little story "Verse and Prose" got into the UG frontpage.
ID 2874981 if you interested. For polishing GML was suggested, but I can not get involved with that.
Collective also published some artwork, so I am doing well exept have no time to do anything what I'd like to do.
However got an idea for more efficiency in my communications:
I'll write in my Journal Entry to everybody at the same time. It is not possible individually go on like this.
Perhaps I'll open My new way of communication this week end, notify my friends where is my "voice-mail" hiding, where can you reach me in my comprehensive, short and understandable statements, etc.
Than I'll have a little time to get out some more entries into the AWW.
Have endless bird stories, but there are other stuff wot I wrote.

Hi there.
I'm glad you're better, and back in action once again! I'll check to see your Journal postings.
Here, the summer is winding down. Once again it is raining s and s. A lot of people are going around moaning about this 'terrible' summer. It's been a good summer for gardening though, keeping everything nice and green.
I've been exploring some of the other BBC sites recently too. I was trying to teach myself Mandarin... don't laugh.

Have to change the title! days of August, hot and very humid. I am almost locked in as in very cold days in winter.
Not quite: I was down to the beach on L.I. Sound, but it was even in the morning too hot and humid.
Now again goes on the computer writing. Found some good people: Traveller in time and Websailor. These nice people are into: Save the Albatross and very acvtive in conservation of Wildlife. You too could join the group!
My new birdfeeder is very enjoyable, now the sparrows learned to wait for me at feeding time. But in this heat they get food only in the morning. Than refresh some water for them.
My squirrels are also demanding much less, and they love to eat apples ( not for humans!!)
Charley did make me very sad, because it made terrible demage in my favored place: Sanibel Island.
Yeah, the lot of rain was good for any vegetation: but cost me double of money to get rid of unwanted little trees, weeds: killing my flowers.
It's OK. Every years is different, at least the environment is green.
I have been very busy, I did not see my computer some times for days. Thanks for writing.
