Before I get started, I'll let you know that I'll be seeking to reduce the number of footnotes where possible, putting this in house style will mean removing the ' --o-O-o-- ' I'm afraid and also using both Headers and Subheaders.

Did you see this entry as being part of a project on the Roman Legions, with, say,
smiley - modThe Roman Invasion of Britain
smiley - modRoman Military Ranks
smiley - modA Roman Mystery - the Lost 9th Legion

I assume that entries on:
smiley - modRoman Military Buildings
smiley - modFleet Types and Patrol Areas (with maps)
are forthcoming?

I did wonder whether you wanted to write about 'Marius' mules' at all – at least a sentence explaining the nickname?

Hello things are moveingsmiley - smiley

Fleet Types and Patrol Areas is entry A74481807 (Edited)
Roman Military Buildings (TO COME LATER)

Will this fit ?
The reforms introdued by Gaius Marius the statesman and general in
107 BC. Increased the ammount of equipment the equipment the men of the legion had to carry. Due ot this burden the men of the legions aquired the nikname "muli mariani" or "Marius Mules".

That looks great to me – I'll add it in.
I was confused as I assumed all entries on Rome would have been in the 'Romans' category and that hasn't been classed. Hang on – I'll add it to the Rome category now…

Hows this

Milites were the men of the legions the ordinary soldiers, they formed the bulk of the fighting forces. These men had no specialist training and so extra duties were confined labouring or guard duties.

One thing though, on reading through

--o-O-o-- page breaks and "veni vidi vici" would perhaps look better if centered.

In the new format turmae is isolated from the rest of the paragraph as shown below

"The second unit was the Ala commanded by a Praefectus Alae. Each Ala had 480 mounted troops, divided into 16 units or

turmae"

needa a tweek.

Well done very good edit good job smiley - cheers

Just to assure you I'm still working my way through this, although it is now getting to the busiest time of year so I confess that progress has slowed somewhat. You can keep track of my progress now as I've added a little thing to show you how far I've got to.

So far I've only made a few cosmetic changes, and consolidated the information about the cohorts (particularly Cohort I) into one section when it was previously repeated.

One quick question for now:
By ' A time-served senior Centurion a Primus Pilus and finished his 25 years of service.' Do you mean 'A time-served senior Primus Pilus Centurion who had already completed 25 years of service'?
