Untalented, definatly untalented. I spent a couple of hours hunting the web for this pic, searching all the Discworld sites.

Its one of my favorites, although the one of Greebo lived as my computer wallpaper for a good long time. Wonderful choice Reaper! BTW, what are you studying there in England?

D'oh! Sorry my page, as usual is out of date. I spend all my time talking and not tending to my page. Sorry, I was studying Mathematical Physics but the combination of sleeping too much, playing on my computer, LAN parties, drinking (50p a drink sometimes) and H2G2'ing meant no time for work. So I failed. I'm now back in Dover (boring) working in the docks at Burger King Still I'm doing a course in Visual Basic 6 and learning to drive then I'm out of here again

Having done my time in the service industry - some would say that I still am, working at a Hell Desk the way I do - I blame you not at all for wanting to escape! Mathematical Physics, eh? Any thoughts on Chaos Theory? Its one of my pet interests and I'm always excited when I find someone who might know what the heck I'm talking about! And, to continue this horrible ramble that I have started, when you go are you planning on returning to school or simply putting your computer skills to use in the work force? OK, I think that I have tried to delve deeply enough for now. You are free to go!

Hmm chaos theory... I play Half-Life and as far as I can see chucking 15 Snarks (little squeaky critters with a fixation on human flesh) into a crowded room always creates chaos!
Seriously though I didn't do anything in that but I have picked up a bit about it and might know what you are talking about if you do. So please feel free to, cos I do find it interesting
When I go I mean leaving Dover and the surrounding area, what I do is fairly irrelevant but computing would be nice.
So what do you do for a living, at this hell desk of yours? And what did you do in the service industry?

My service industry tour-of-duty was at Pizza Hut, where I served as...*clears throat*...a waitress, a hostess, a prep-cook, and a cook. The only things that I did not do were manage (I was under 21 at the time and couldn't serve alcohol) and deliver (the quickest way possible to ruin your car). Now, I provide technical support for BVRP's PhoneTools program - a program which allows your computer to act as an answering machine, speaker phone and fax. *kicks away soap box* This means that I get to talk to a lot of people who are very nice and trying to learn, some folks who think that the computer is satan's instrument in the corruption of the world and a few who blame me, personally, for every wrong and evil in the world. An interesting mix, but usually not an unbearable one.
LOL I've only played Half-Life a few times (my home computer isn't fast enough, and they frown on us playing such engrossing games at work - although here I am typing away...), but your comment about the snarks is well taken! Chaos has been one of my favorite topics since - I blush to admit it - Jurassic Park. The book, not the movie, BTW. I was fascinated by the fractals at the beginning of every chapter, then bought James Glick's book on chaos theory and have been hooked ever since.
