Gosh ... ahem ... erm ... ah ... uh ... I'm so sorry, I wasn't for one moment meaning to imply that I was discharging the copious contents of my nasal cavities all over over you, Psi, and I am sorry it reads that way.

At the risk of digging myself in deeper, it was blowing my nose yet again whilst looking at the pooter and thinking 'Yeurgh, this is interminably awful, so you have my sympathies'.

I'm sure you didn't read it the wrong way (although you may have noticed the abysmal wording) but, having just read my sign-off here last night, I had an instant stomach clench - and oopsmoment

That way of reading it hadn't occurred to me. I got through loads of depth charges this morning, I can't seem to shake this one...

Depth charges, that's what they were ... well remembered, that man

Partly because I didn't feel wunnerful and partly because I'd only have been able to mime, I decided to give tonight's class a miss. Rather disgruntled I was, too, and suspected I was being a bit of a wuz.

But your comment has reassured me that I might have actually made the right choice. Today I opened my third box of depth charges, and it's only the fifth or sixth in the umblemumble years I've been here ... I'm still parping all I can, don't want this damn thing to go onto my chest. Also I've cracked open a small reserve supply of good multivitamins - whether or not they'll help, whether or not they're stale, whatever they are or are not ... I am that desperate.

I've found a bottle of Rochester Ginger, d'you think that might help? I might be able to locate a bottle of brandy, or Jameson, just to stop it being too spiky on my currently not sore throat ...

This one is serious!

Maybe we're getting old and can't fight things off like we used to.

Soz, munchkin, forgot which day of the week it was.

I've posted on TCIY just to see how it works. Quote boxes don't work, although the contents are italicised. The layout is sufficiently inefficient on both the MB and the discussion list to ensure that not much will appear on one screen.

As I've stopped using IE as a browser, and I'm still using the Script, there may be other changes which you might notice, and I may not.

What's gone? Do you mean that you can't read how many unread posts I have (that figures, it's obvious when I think about it!)?

Go and look at what I've posted in TCIY, you can get there from kk's hootoo disc list. When I put BLOODY AWFUL, it appears as /BLOODY/ /AWFUL/, if you see what I mean, with no box.

What's curious about the rollout of the new layout is that, on a blog somewhere (link, in the N&Q thread), it is hoped that the changeover will be in October. And here's the curious bit: afaik there's been no mention of it /at/ /all/, on frinstance the R&E MB or on the Family Trees MB (to name but two disparate MBs). Now why, do you think, some MBs are told but not others?

Are there more MB closures to come, following on from R2 last month (whose posters, of course, didn't need to be told of changes in the layout of their MB)? And/or something else?
