Have one with me, Doctor, I don't want to be poisoned.
And you've done it again, please stop making me laugh ... now, my face as well as my ribs, is aching but not in a joyous smiley way. Doh.

Ordinarily, yes, of course you/I can ... hence the natter I had in Cork about Barry's, Lipton's and Tetley's. Son 3 offended late aunt by taking his own Barry's teabags when the family went to visit, coz prefers (but is not allowed to drink) ugh Lipton's because she tastes the tea of her childhood - they use loose leaf Barry's and it's not bad, although coz 2 criticised coz 1's tea making technique, in her pseudo-mid Atlantic meets Joyce Grenfell sort of way. I decamped from Twining's to Tetley's when cash was tight, and it's turned out to be not a bad alternative. Recently tried PG Tips and was very disappointed, they used to be indistinguishable from Tetley's, but now they're a poor second. Next question?
You made me jump, I nodded off and came back to switch pooter off. Thought I was logged out, but I wasn't.
G'nite from me and my snuffles!

Impressive ability to taste tea whilst unable to taste single malt there....
I hope it works for coffee.

"Foul!"
Most unfair, I did start with 'Ordinarily ...' and my concern was that a good single malt would not be appreciated by the imbiber AND I offerd it to what I believed to be a worthy recipient. Albeit and as I now realise too late, a recipient lacking grititude, doh.
Feel free to assume a grovelling posture but don't kid yourself you'll get off so lightly this time :-|

You /did/ say 'ordinarily' true, and I suppose not being able to get the full flavour from tea is not such a waste, I apologise.

Eh? Where did I say that? What I tried to convey was that my taste buds had taken leave of their senses (and that's an interesting notion) so there was no point in wasting a good malt when there was a connoisseur around, so I'd just have tea.
The fact that the tea also tasted awful - how you'd imagine washing up water to taste - was neither here nor there.
Acksherly, I don't think I've ever tasted single malt, me bein' a whiskey drinker an' all ... well, I probably have, chez them-down-the-round but since they stock more than the well-stocked local pub, I tend to opt for a 1780 or even Black Bush as I know yer man has a goodly collection of good single malts and I'd hate him to think they were being wasted on a malt pleb.
Key: Complain about this post
