Hi Woodpigeon,
Just gliding by when I decided to alight on Rockall. Did you follow John Ridgway's Save the Albatross Voyage, some good stuff around it including a great article by Matthew Parris available at Times Online.

A big buddy of mine took the Rockall Times guys out to Rockall last year. I don't think the anarchy and the discipline required to survive the Atlantic in a 60 ft yacht made for a particulary harmonious voyage.

Websailor, one of my regular correspondents here on H2G2, has been in regular contact with John Ridgeway during the voyage. I didn't follow it in any great detail myself, but I signed the petition.
I didn't realise that the RT guys had decided to visit their mecca! By not alighting on it they follow in some esteemed footsteps. Did you see the photo of the navy guys in the sentry box?
