er, I'm very confused about where I am supposed to ask for help, so sorry if I've got the wrong place!
I've just logged in again and I seem to be called Lysippus instead of Marj, even though my nickname thing says I am Marj. Identity crisis. When I was going through the 2 week nightmare that was Trying To Log In To The New BBCi Thing, it kept saying your name is Lysippus and do you want to change your name? but it also said it wouldn't affect my Nickname or anything, and I didn't want anything to change, so I didn't change anything, but now I have a new name, and its a silly greek sculptor instead of vegetable spread, which is distressing.
Can you help?
(it isn't a huge problem, and I am very happy to be allowed back in again, even called something else . . .)

Marj, you're BBCi login name is Lysippus but your nickname is Marj. My BBCi login name is Captain_SpankMunki without all the gumpf and good news after it that I have in my nickname.
There's no reason why you can't leave it as it is if you're happy.
Liam.

I forgot to mention - you show up as Marj when you post.

Yes, marj, your account looks fine from here - pre-SSO number and the nickname you want. On h2g2 you are the only one who should see your login name at the top of your pages. You just aren't used to seeing it there. People who never logged out aren't used to having to type their login names. Your nickname is quite separate and that is what is shown on postings and pages.
Note that there may yet be some sites on which your login name is visible to others despite the obvious security risk of doing that (Jim keeps trying to tell them it's a bad idea). So it is better to have a login name which you didn't mind being visible.

ahhh, thanks! so if I hadn't told you, then no-one would know about the greek sculptor at all?
I'll not attempt to tamper with the log-in thing again, it was too traumatic last time . . . it is funny where it says at the top now
> hello lysippus
> I'm not lysippus
like they are having their own little greek conversation on their own on the bar, ahhh
I will leave well alone.
