What's white, shiny and sitting on my desk at home?

Well..."you" wanted to know!
It could have been worse...you could have been re-enacting Adrian Mole or something!

... and less of the bogey-wiping, you!
I have a special bogey-collecting crevice on the underside of my chair.

Getting back on topic...
Your MAC could end up being an endangered species...
Apple are in the midst of changing their hardware to run on Intel-based processors (in other words - MACS and PC hardware is shortly going to be virtually identical apart from the macs having a better operating system and being better looking...)
Now, we all know, MACs are more expensive than PCs, so they're including a proprietory chip in the new MACs, which is needed to run OSX-x86
The trouble is, some bright spark has already found a way of installing OSX onto an intel-based computer without that chip...
So, you can buy a PC without an operating system (a lot cheaper than a MAC),
then you buy OSX on its own (A lot cheaper than Windows)
And hey presto - you've got all the reliability of a MAC Operating System without having to pay for fancy design.
I think they've just shot themselves in the foot!

Anyhow... what does Dave have to do with Macs... So... as a total non Mac user ever And only knowing a few things, such as graphic designers seem to like em, (though I've heard cool things of those new laptops with the touch screen thingg you can draw direct on to or something ), so on a basic level, like on my PC I'll use office suite of software, and IE mainly, is there Mac equavelents? waht they like for compatibility of file types, as on my PC we have a media player for playing Mac formated media clips, is there likewise soemthing on Macs to play windows Meda etc., etc., formats
