Minors are not allowed to publish any identifying info or contact details - even the name of their school(they are yikesed when spotted or there is doubt on age) and they need their folks permission to use the site (not very enforceable really).
I have come across one 'researcher' who was grooming, on this site and Talk Buffy, who was swiftly referred to the staff.

Ben, your post has really shown me that I should have just kept quiet and not allowed myself to be persuaded to go into my reasons. I don't agree with you, and posting has just allowed you to 'argue' with what I've said point by point, something that I've never really liked doing myself anyway.
I'm not going to be swayed to your point of view, you're not going to be swayed to mine, and I've really got too much going on to have an argument (or debate, if that's a better word) just for the sake of it.
Peta, thanks for clarifying!

As for Master B's comment, well, if I can't say anything nice, I won't say anything at all.

Mina, I *can* be persuaded, it just so happens that nothing has yet been said that has made me do a volta face, though lots has challenged what I think.
I am still thinking about people's right to be protected from the big outside Internet. I have not yet worked out what I think about that yet, so to say that I cannot be persuaded by what you post is to do yourself down. *I* don't know what I think about it yet - so I fail to see how you can know what I think about it.
What you posted prompted me to make the suggestion that the Ts and Cs be altered so that a person has a right to successfully yikes a post if they feel that what has been addressed to them is inappropriate. This is a major difference to the current Ts and Cs. - So some change there in my thinking, based on your response.
It saddens me that you are so determined to present me as this unswayable juggernaut. It also interests me that you, Coley and Amy disagree with me in what I am saying. I respect all of you, in different ways, and I am aware that I may be wrong - I may have lept to the wrong conclusions or got the wrong end of the stick, and I am finding it frustrating to be left to swing in the wind. But that is your prerogative of course.
I am challenging you because I am interested in what you are saying, and I respect the experience which gives your opinions authority. There wouldn't be any point in reading or responding if what you were saying was cr@p. It is because it *isn't* cr@p that I am reading it and thinking about it.

"altered so that a person has a right to successfully yikes a post if they feel that what has been addressed to them is inappropriate"
I think this is part of the culture of the BBC communities, although it wasn't guarenteed to be succesful.
"It saddens me that you are so determined to present me as this unswayable juggernaut. "
I think really I'm determined to not believe that I could possibly ever change someone's mind about something.

Well, that's just *daft* you dozy mare! Of *course* you can change peoples' minds, Mina. As I said, I have a humungous respect for the experience which you have and which gives what you say far more authority than random punters like me.
and make up? Or not quite ready to do that yet?
Ben

I'm not sure about the making up - are the audience ready for the fun to be over?
I'll take the though.

Z Posted Mar 1, 2005
Can't you just make up and decide to debate as friends?

Mrs Zen Posted Mar 1, 2005
Well, the audience might enjoy watching us make-up if it involves lots of and and stuff like that!

I want my ! and with it I always take the .
Sadly I can't do debates, my attention wanders off before I've finished writing my message. You might be surpised how many messages I start replying to and then lose interest in my own replies. If I can't be interesting even to myself, what hope for me is there??

I've transferred my arguing onto another site I use now. I seem to be in an argumentative mood at the moment.
